New Findings of Mousse,Tar Balls,Pudding-like Substances on Apalachicola Bay
New findings from Apalachicola’s Riverkeeper’s “Osprey Photomonitoring Program”.
These local volunteers are recording the damaging effects from the Oil Spill and have just released new video showing tar balls,mousse and puddding-like material coming from Apalachicola Bay onto St.George Island’s Bayshore.
Understand that Apalachicola Bay has been open for seafood harvesting since day one of the Spill.
Designated a “no impact area”,Franklin County commerical fishermen will have no recourse if and when the Bay is closed for harvesting.
What will they do when there are no more oysters-period? And what about consumer’s safety?
Officials are claiming this all is natural and is an “algae bloom”.In February? Where are the test results??
More convenient lies??…
Spring break is just around the corner,so,now is the time to let your officials know that WE demand “independent testing”!!
Let those results come forward and let’s do what needs to be done…”close the Apalachicola Bay for harvesting of ALL seafood until it recovers and we know it’s safe to eat”!

Thanks for posting this! I’m gravely concerned that Apalachicola Bay has been open for harvesting since the beginning of this devestating oil spill! Even if this is an algae bloom,that alone should warrant closing the Bay for harvesting!I hope tests results will indicate the need to declare this an “impact area”.Maybe then Franklin Co. will get the funding needed for clean-up and restoration,as well as helping unemployed fishermen!
