The answer to why the mind-boggling rate of delinquency in our world lies in understanding the way a child is nurtured during childhood. Obviously, there are many kids we cannot do anything about.
But, why does a kid from an above average family choose the path of delinquency? A kid with all the resources needed for a better future instead than rambling in the streets?
Where is the “we” in these families?
All of us love attention and love. How do we get it? Through interaction with the loved ones. What if we do not get the love that we deserve? That’s what most of my old “off-the-grid” friends give me for a reason for their miserable life.
There is no “we” in these families. The father and mother take their separate ways, and the rest of the family feel like: “what are we doing here?”
A feel of belonging
Why do we love someone (esp. our parents)? Is it because they provide for us? The security? No, it’s because both the parents and the kid feel a mutual belonging. I find that most of those junkies in my classroom has got a set of arrogant parents. There is a strong need for belonging inside every kid.
Doing it the right way…
What is the use of a family that never understand who you are? Would you do anything for a parent that never see you the way you want them to? Do anyone give anything about someone who doesn’t care about them?
Obviously, there are a lot of reasons why these kids choose the wrong path. They look for a place where they get the acceptance that their family never gave them.
Why do you think kids choose the wrong path? Even if they have everything they need? Is it their family and lack of interaction with their parents?
