Who here has bad skin? I know I do. I am in my 30s and I still find the rare pimple or blemish on my face from time to time. My skin is very sensitive and only so many different products can be used on it. When I moved from one country to another, I discovered that the cost of my skin care product nearly tripled in price. That made me go onto Google to discover some face mask recipes that I can make at home to solve my skin problem. I found out have to solve your skin problem too.
1. Vinegar Facial Masks. This is one of the best anti-aging tips I can give you. I know it sounds as though vinegar would dry out your skin, but it actually improves it. I was quite shocked as well. All you need to do is combine 1 tablespoon of apple cider vinegar and 2 cups of water. I know, it is mostly water, but the important part is the apple cider vinegar. Keep in mind that even Helen of Troy used this recipe, so you know it is good since it has been around forever. Doing this rinse will help to tighten your skin. To help with your vinegar facial mask is to mix a quarter cup of cider vinegar with a quarter cup of water. Just apply this to your skin for extra firming. Pour on your skin and then let it dry. It will go deep into your skin and pores to make you look even more radiant. Who doesn’t want radiant, younger looking skin? I know I do?
2. Oatmeal Facial Mask. This is my lifesaver during the winter season. Oatmeal is great for dry skin and helps to keep it moisturized and balanced. Plus, you will not have to worry about flakey, dry skin so long as you use this mask. It is easy to do as well. First take a half a cup of hot water and a third of a cup of oatmeal. Add the hot water to the oatmeal and allow it to settle for a few minutes (2 to 3 minutes is best). Then mix in 2 tablespoons of plain yogurt, 2 tablespoons of honey and a small egg white. Mix all of the ingredients together and then apply a thin layer to your face. Allow it to sit there for 10 to 15 minutes. You can rinse it away with warm water, but make sure you have a strainer at the bottom of the sink to catch any particles. Your skin will feel so hydrated and will look great all winter long. Just apply the mask once a week or when needed. If your skin dries out in the summer time, then use the mask then as well. Dry, itchy skin is a thing of the past.
3. Yogurt Facial Mask. When you do a DIY facial mask at home, you want to make sure that all of the ingredients are already at home. Yogurt is one of the ingredients many women already at home so that is why it is a great DIY facial mask. This is also my favorite DIY face mask that feels like a spa day at home. All you need to do is mix a tablespoon of yogurt with the juice of a quarter of an orange, add the pulp and a teaspoon of aloe and you have your mask. Apply this on your face and leave on for 5 minutes before rinsing off. Your skin will be great and your pores will look smaller. Who said you had to visit the spa in order to pamper your skin?
4. Mayonnaise Facial Mask. My final favorite homemade facial mask. Many people have a jar of mayonnaise in their refrigerator, so it is great for many women to do this DIY facial mask. Like my friends say, why should I waste my money on an expensive cream when I have Hellmann’s in my fridge? No thanks! She is right. I mean Hellmann’s is a couple of dollars when some facial creams are $50 and above. This does the trick for me. I just take the mayonnaise and apply it to my face. Wait about 20 minutes and wipe off. My skin is soft and radiant. Plus mayonnaise doesn’t really have a potent smell so you do not have to worry about smelling it or tasting it on your skin afterwards. You will just have a clean and smooth face. Do this once a week for optimal happiness and clean pores. Your wallet will thank you.
There are numerous facial masks out there, this is just four. Another tip is to mix honey and olive oil together for a cleansing and moisturizing mask. My face loves it every morning and it costs a fraction of Lush products and my skin still looks great. Do your research to see what feels great on your face. The 5 minutes it takes to look up a DIY product will save you lots of money in the end.
