Trapped emotions cause physical and emotional pain

Energy healing, one of the oldest healing systems in the world, is based on the concept that health depends on the quality of energy that flows through the body. Many ancient healing practices recognize this universal concept – the energy current as vital to life – although they utilize different terms to describe it. For example, in Chinese Traditional Medicine, the energy current is called “qi,” while in Ayurvedic medicine is it called “prana.”

According to energy healer Dr. Bradley Nelson, emotionally charged events from the past can result in trapped emotions, which block the body’s energy current in much the same way that a dam blocks a stream. The result: physical and mental pain.

And, trapped emotions are only one of the ways in which an energy imbalance can manifest. Dr. Nelson maintains that imbalances fall into six general categories. What are some signs of a HeartWall?

Although HeartWalls are originally formed for the purpose of protecting against additional emotional pain, they are ultimately harmful, says Nelson. HeartWalls have the effect of blocking “heart energy” from flowing through the body – making it difficult for the body to heal itself.

HeartWalls can also block the individual off from others, cause a lack of openness and trust in relationships, and make it difficult to give and receive love. In addition, they can contribute to a host of disorders, from chronic fatigue syndrome and fibromyalgia to osteoarthritis and migraine headaches.

A feeling of emotional numbness – and a lack of emotional connection with others – is a primary symptom of a HeartWall. You may also be able to recognize a HeartWall through physical symptoms of pain and tightness in the neck and shoulder muscles, or through emotional symptoms of anxiety and depression.
