In the medical field, radio frequency identification is a valuable tool for improving asset-utilization rates and patient outcomes, reducing the incidence of lost or stolen equipment, decreasing the amount of time nurses spend searching for missing items, and more. With that in mind, RFID in Health Care, RFID Journal‘s ninth conference focused on this sector, was designed to help hospital and clinic executives considering RFID deployments at their facilities to make the best implementation decisions, by presenting case studies from medical end users that have already deployed the technology.

This year’s RFID in Health Care event was held on Dec. 4 at the Georgetown University Hotel and Conference Center, located in Washington, D.C. During this one-day conference, more than 100 early adopters shared the results of real-world deployments, while attendees learned about the benefits that can be achieved, gained insights into the proper RFID technologies to employ for various applications and discovered best practices, as well as how to avoid common pitfalls. The event featured hospital executives explaining how they employ RFID, provided a learning experience for health-care executives and included an exhibit area showcasing the latest RFID solutions for the health-care industry. Attendees had the opportunity to meet the leading technology companies, and to view their latest solutions.
