Dial 3 For Welfare In Arabic In Michigan

J7409 seems surprised in her recent You Tube video about an email she received from a friend. He alerted her to the fact that when calling for welfare assistance in Michigan…for Arabic, press “3″. 

With the largest concentration of Muslims of any state, it is no wonder this is now happening.  I mean, have you been to Dearborn recently?  It’s not the same all American trip to Greenfield Village and the Henry Ford Museum anymore. The sounds of call to prayer remind everyone of that.

After watching J7409′s video, I became curious, so I went to the State of Michigan’s Department of Human Services (DHS) to check things out.  Well, one can even get handy dandy welfare applications in Arabic, too.  See?

So there ya go. I guess English is not important to the US anymore. I know my grandparents thought it was very important to learn English if they were to assimilate here.  

Maybe it is kind of like cursive writing going the way of phonics. If one can’t write cursive, one can’t read cursive.  That means one would then not be able to read the original documents of the US, older important handwritten communications,or even mundane letters and journals from relatives who have passed away.

It’ll be like trying to read Arabic, or something.
