Members of the Security Council of the State of Baja California confirmed that Juan Jose Trejo Gutierrez “El Chapito Trejo” known by the authorities as a criminal that belongs to a cell of drug traffickers from the Sinaloa Cartel identified as “Los Uriarte” was executed in Los Mochis, Sinaloa.
According to information from Sinaloa Press, the authorities from the State informed that last Saturday, November 26, around 11AM, Trejo was traveling in a Jetta with car plates from Baja California, in the Colonia Jardines de Fatima when we was executed.
The victim was traveling with his wife and three kids. The car stopped in front of a store, when an armed man unloaded his gun against him. In regards to the hit man , there are two versions, one that the sicario stopped in front of the vehicle and shot him, and another one that he shot him from car to car, however the authorities are still investigating.
Later on, they reported that Chapito Trejo, died around 6PM in a private hospital.
The authorities informed to the press, that the man was carrying fake IDs with the names of Jesus Arashira and Jesus Aaron Avecicho Acuña. He was also carrying another ID with the name of Jose Juan Trejo Gutierrez, a native of Cajeme, Sonora, with an address in Urbi Villa in Baja California.
His image and the nickname of “Chapito Trejo” are included in the criminal charts of criminal organizations by the Coordination Group of Baja California since 2009, because Trejo was the man in charge of the security – and escape - of the operation when Gilberto Sanchez Guerrero “El Gil” an ex-cop who became trafficker, detained in Ensenada in 2009, and was wanted since October of 2007 helped escape Raydel Lopez Uriarte “El Muletas” from the Policia Federal.
Since February of 2010, after the capture of Raydel Lopez Uriarte, founder of “Los Uriarte”, Trejo Gutierrez started acting as the armed wing of this group, which is headed by cousins and brothers of “El Muletas”.
The authorities focused on Trejo again at the beginning of 2011 when the former cop Jesus Israel de la Cruz Lopez “El Tomate” declared that the people from “Los Teos” and “Los Uriarte” made a deal in November of 2010 with Ismael “El Mayo” Zambada, in a meeting in Sinaloa. And in the names of the operators in Tijuana, Trejo was frequently mentioned.
Nowadays he is identified as an armed wing of “Los Chapito Uriarte”, just like ZETA identified him in his article “The Fall of El Chapito Uriarte“, and as a rival of a cell of “El Aquiles” in the East side of Tijuana.
“El Chapito Trejo” was also in charge of “settling of accounts” and “collecting plaza fees” in the territory of the Tijuana Abelardo Rodriguez Dam and Tecate, where he was currently fighting for the criminal power against two fronts, the CJNG-AFO alliance and against “Los Aquiles”.
