In a photo that spread through social networks, the drug dealer re-appeared next to a young man whose identity is unknown, RCQ appears in the image with black hair and a few extra pounds.
While the governments of Mexico and the United States look for him and even offer a millionaire reward for his capture, Rafael Caro Quintero , one of the founders of the late Guadalajara Cartel , walks and has been seen in different Municipalities of Sinaloa.
In 2016, Caro Quintero said in an interview with the journalist Anabel Hernández that he retired from drug trafficking, however, it is rumored that he created his own criminal organization or that he joined the Sinaloa Cartel along with Ismael “El Mayo” Zambada and the children of Joaquín “El Chapo” Guzmán .
Three years ago some photographs of Caro Quintero were disseminated , in which he looked thin and with gray hair, however, a few days ago he circulated a photo in social networks that he wears with a few extra kilos and with black hair.
In the photo, the drug dealer poses next to a young man, whose identity is unknown. According to Infobae, one of the former leaders of the Guadalajara Cartel was seen strolling through several various municipalities of Sinaloa .
Quintero was arrested in 1985 for various crimes, such as organized crime, drug trafficking, and for the murder of former agent Enrique ‘Kiki’ Camarena Salazar and his pilot, Alfredo Avelar, for which he was sentenced to 40 years in prison.
However, he was only imprisoned for 28 years, because a Mexican state court concluded that he had been tried improperly, so he was released on August 9, 2013 and since then disappeared and is considered a fugitive from justice.
After three years, the Supreme Court of Justice of the Nation (SCJN) refused to protect drug trafficker Rafael Caro Quintero against extradition ordered against him, so if he is arrested, he will be sent to the United States.
Unanimously, the First Chamber endorsed the proposal of Minister Luis María Aguilar , who concluded that the protection of justice should be denied to Caro Quintero who, since 2014, claimed the extradition treaty between Mexico and the United States before a federal court.
It is unquestionable that Articles 17 and 18 of the Extradition Law, as well as Article 11 of the Extradition Treaty between Mexico and the US (which provide for the figure of provisional detention as a precautionary measure), having its basis in Article 119 constitutional, can not be considered unconstitutional, as intended by the appellant, “it was resolved.
It was in November 2016, when the now president minister, Arturo Zaldívar drew up a first motion for a resolution that he planned to deny Quintero’s amparo, however, the criminal leader filed a complaint and managed to postpone the analysis of his amparo. He did the same last March.
Caro Quintero was released on the morning of August 9, 2013 from the Guadalajara state prison, located in Puente Grande, by resolution issued by a federal court.
On that occasion, the judgment of the First Collegiate Court in Criminal Matters of the Third Circuit in Jalisco argued that the inmate should not be prosecuted in the federal jurisdiction for the murder of the DEA agent.
The immediate release was confirmed without the federal Public Ministry having the opportunity to appeal the resolution.
In November 2015, the First Chamber of the SCJN determined, by majority vote, to revoke the sentence that had left it free when considering that the resolution of the magistrates was not adequate.
One of his nicknames was “The Prince,” because of his way of dressing . The main leader of the Guadalajara Cartel was Miguel Félix Gallardo. Caro Quintero and Ernesto Fonseco Carrillo ‘Don Neto’ also participated in the leadership of the criminal organization.
Like almost all Mexican drug traffickers, Caro Quintero was born poor. The site that saw him born on October 24, 1952 was Badiraguato, Sinaloa , land that also gave birth to Joaquín “El Chapo” Guzmán.
Being only a teenager, he joined the world of drug trafficking, since he is the nephew of Lamberto Quintero, another legend of organized crime.
The blood that runs through his veins is the same as that of Beloved Carrillo, known as the “Lord of the Skies,” as they were cousins. And if that wasn’t enough, Miguel Ángel Félix Gallardo was his godfather.
His strong ties to this underground world led him to be one of the most important drug trafficking leaders for decades.
His ability to grow marijuana gave him power and fortune, so much so that some author came to affirm that Quintero was able to “transform Mexican marijuana from common weed to the smoke of connoisseurs.”
