Collective Bargaining is BAD
What good is collective bargaining if there is nothing to bargain for or about? Many years ago when public unions were formed in the federal government, they did not possess collective bargaining. This is because a strike by civil servants would cripple the country in such a way that national security could be placed at risk. However, somewhere between then and now, collective bargaining was instituted in both federal and state governments. This was a huge mistake as unions went from achieving fairness between management and labor to taking full advantage of the situation. Labor just took and took and took until we ended in today’s potential bankruptcy predicament. Along with the help of progressive Democrats and Republican in Name Only (RINO) Republicans, unions have caused our states and federal government to sink deeply in debt.
Hence, one can only deduce that collective bargaining is BAD (Bringing America Down) because it causes a great disparity between the salaries and wages of public vs. private workers. Plus that, collective bargaining is useless if there is nothing for which to bargain. The unions across the United States are fighting to retain their collective bargaining rights. Why? What good is collective bargaining if the states and the Union go broke and eventually bankrupt? How stupid can these union goons get? Apparently, they don’t care about the survival of the states and the survival of the United States of America (USA). All they care about is money, money, money and personal power.
What good is personal power if there are no jobs? What good is personal power if there are no union members? What good is personal power if there is no state or no USA? How stupid can these power-hungry union goons get? If they don’t give up collective bargaining, all will be lost. It is either survival or death. Apparently, they are choosing death. How stupid can that be? I’d like to get into the minds of these union goons. They couldn’t care less about their states or the USA for that matter. Unions should be outlawed. Most public workers should be fired.
What is so sad about the economic condition of America today is that the Democrats and RINO Republicans have caused all of these debt problems because of their tax-and-spend and pork-barrel approach to doing business. They did this just to win votes from the lemming populace. The ultimate result has been deficit spending, increased debt, job losses, high unemployment, decreased investment in plants and equipment, lower sales, a nanny state, and a continued downward spiraling of the economy. Now, when drastic measures are required to solve these problems, the Democrats, unions, and RINO Republicans fight to maintain the things that have caused the economy to spiral out of control.
The Republican governors of New Jersey, Wisconsin, Indiana, and other such states are doing the right things. They should not bow to union-goon pressure and stay the course. If we do not get the unions to back off and carry their share of the load, then all will be lost. It is a matter of survival vs. union greed, selfishness, power-hunger, and stupidity. The unions cannot stand. They must not stand. Those who work to solve the problem that the Democrats, RINOs, and unions have caused must win in this epic battle for survival of our states and our nation. It is a battle between freedom and union economic bondage. Keep the fight going, governors, until the bitter end. We hope those of you who are attempting to solve the economic problems prevail. We the People depend on and count on you winning this epic battle.

You’ve got some good points, Bob. The states are completely broke now, so I’m not sure if any of these people complaining will even have a job in another year or two.
I’ve been unemployed for 20 months now. When the all get laid off, after 20 months go by for them, maybe, just maybe, they will have a better appreciation of having a job that pays the best across the nation. Maybe they will learn not to be so greedy, selfish, and stupid.
This is a bunch of CRAP. It’s the old divide and conquer and strategy IT’S AMERICA AGAINST THE BANKS NOT ONE ANOTHER.
I have been laid off over 6 months and I am in a union. Class warfare is alive and well, Collective bargaining is BAD for a PHD who wants cheap workers (slaves) to take care of him and make him richer.
@Martin, Well you are right about one thing;education makes a difference. I have never understood the “we won’t give an inch or we will shut it down” mentality. If these Union workers could or would read a basic financial statement they would understand that they are sinking the entire ship that includes their jobs. Perhaps the union teachers should go to remedial Accounting 101 and Economics 101 courses and “teach” their Union Brethren how not to SHOOT THEMSELVES IN THE FOOT.

I am very sorry for your situation and you have my prayers.
However, you are only partially right about the “Big Banks”.
They are playing footsie with Obama and his Commie supporters.
I believe the word is “Crapitalism”. However, lets go back to the topic at hand.Who should control a states budget, the elected representatives or the union bosses. Thats really what this is about. In Wisconsin the Governor is asking for Union workers to pay for 12.6% of their great health benefits and 50% of their retirement going forward. They are not asking for ANY change in collective bargaining for salaries…only benefits. The state cannot effectively control the budget without strong control over benefits expense. Witness the teachers unions forcing the State to offer free Viagra last year through collective bargaining. Martin, your Union bosses dine out on Steak with good Wine in New Gleaming Union headquarters while working men and women toil for their families. They gleefully destroy the economy (along with the Fed and Bankers) while good people loose jobs, Use your down time to read a bit. The truth will always set you free. God Bless…

I am very sorry for your 6 months of being laid off situation even if you couldn’t care less about my 20 months of being laid off situation. Ask yourself this question: What have my union goons done for me since I’ve been laid off? All your fellow union brothers and sisters are fully employed, cutting out from work, getting phony doctor’s excuses so they can still receive their pay, and fighting for themselves instead of for the good of the entire state. What’s wrong with that picture anyway?
Why aren’t you out there picketing too? They say that they are picketing in all 50 states. You should be out there doing your part to save the jobs of your brothers and sisters instead of just moaning about your personal situation. If they all keep it up, they all will be out of work and will start moaning like you do. It is difficult for me to understand how you can support a union that couldn’t save your job. I am earning a doctorate to re-invent myself so that I can teach in college. I already have two potential jobs waiting for me as soon as I graduate. I hope you have a plan to re-invent yourself also so that you won’t end up with 20 months of unemployment. Some of you my have misunderstood me, I care about ALL the hard working Americans who are unemployed.ALL of our high paying jobs have been shipped to China. All of the Americans who once worked in manafacturing have not died. We are watching the pool of good paying job dry up. If Americans can’t make money they can’t spend it.What good is a PHD if the only job left is a wal-mart greeter. The US WAS the leader of science and technology of the entire world.Look around at our cities HUGE banks and sport arenas with a population who can’t afford a ticket. Maybe I should get a PHD in basketball.

You sound like a bitter young man. You need a paradigm shift so that you don’t come across so negative. With your attitude, you will not find a job soon.
Additionally, you should not maintain such a poor attitude towards PhDs. It is not easy to earn that degree. There are plenty of jobs for PhDs. You just need the right connections and to know where to find the available jobs.
Of course, you have your faithful union to find you a job. Don’t count on the union goons, for they are only out for themselves. You poor union members keep paying your dues, and they waste your money in funding loser liberal candidates who got us in this mess in the first place.
I suggest you re-invent yourself in another industry. I know unions. I used to be a member of the CTA. What a ripoff they were. Don’t look to your union bosses (goons) for help. They couldn’t care less about the rank-and-file members except to get their dues. At any rate, I do wish you the best.

@Bob You are right it is hard to get a phd and YOU deserve good pay for earning it.
What is happing NOW in history is bigger than union/non union dem/rep. OUR country is going broke and workers are blaming each other.The debt based monetary system was a complete failure. There is no store of wealth in our money. Debt slaves cannot build a future. You should not have to reinvent yourself for basic survival. BOTH political parties LIE to bow to the banks while they enslave us. Banks print money out of thin air and charge us interest on it. Our government has failed to protect us. I FEAR BANK OF AMERICA MORE THAN AL QUIDA. My union is small and most of the union “goons” worked for me (I was foreman) with there tools. They are no different than myself. I have only respect for someone with higher education like yourself Bob but I do think there should be a high paying job worth getting after school. (not in china) I’m sorry about your experiance with the cta. My union is IBEW 24 and they treat me like they work for me.
The hall called me and got me another job monday (5 tens and one 8 hour day) so guess they are working for there members. Who is looking for a job for you Bob?
