Key Bible Prophecy Tweeted By Top Israeli Rabbi As Missiles Target Holy City
‘On that day I will set out to destroy all the nations that attack Jerusalem’
A leading rabbi for the Israeli Defense Forces has been reaching out to the nation’s troops – now being massed because of the unrelenting missile attacks from Gaza over the past few days – through social media.
According to a new report in Israel Today, the soldiers are being called up for active military duty in preparation for a possible invasion of the Hamas-ruled Gaza Strip, so the rabbi has been posting inspirational scriptures on Twitter.
Just yesterday was posted Zechariah 12:10, “A passage Christians and Messianic Jews see as pointing to Yeshua as Messiah,” the report said.
That states, “And I will pour out on the house of David and the inhabitants of Jerusalem a spirit of grace and supplication.”

While the Twitter space limits ended the message there, Israel Today notes that the verse continues, stating, “They will look on me, the one they have pierced, and they will mourn for him as one mourns for an only child, and grieve bitterly for him as one grieves for a firstborn son.”

Odd that a rabbi should be quoting ZACHARIAH 12:10, which reads “They shall look upon me, whom they have pierced: and they shall mourn for him,” etc.” That quote is a prophecy of Christ being pierced in the heart by a spear while He was dying on the cross. Pierced in the heart by the Romans who were manipulated into crucifying Christ by the Sanhedrin, which was composed of Jewish rabbis.
It is also a prophecy about the Jews being converted to Christ during the “last days,” which began in 1948 when Israel (after a lengthy Diaspora) once again became a national entity.
Christ’s heart wound is clearly visible on the Shroud of Turin. This allows modern-day Jews to “look upon me, whom they have pierced” and ponder Christ’s selfless love for humanity.
