DEBKAfile was founded by a team of journalists in June 2000 as an independent Internet Web site, providing an intelligence and security news service. October 20, 2016, 9:44 AM (IDT)

The ‘humanitarian pause’ declared by Moscow for the Syrian city of Aleppo went into effect at 8am on Thursday. It is intended to enable the delivery of humanitarian aid, including medicine, food and other supplies to the devastated city. The cease-fire was extended by three hours and is now scheduled to end at 7pm.

Our unique angle on these subjects – and strong intelligence dimension – has earned DEBKAfile a global reputation and a steady readership – which skyrockets in times of crisis.
