(Before It's News)

DEBKAfile was founded by a team of journalists in June 2000 as an independent Internet Web site, providing an intelligence and security news service. October 19, 2016, 12:21 PM (IDT)

Hundreds of fighters from the Islamic State organization were fleeing westward from Iraq's Nineveh province, where the city of Mosul is located, in the direction of Syria on Wednesday. They are using a road built by ISIS that connects Mosul to Raqqa, the terrorist organization's capital in Syria. The possibility that the fighters are using civilians, who were also seen fleeing the city, as human shields is being checked. See DEBKAfile's exclusive analysis of the developments in the offensive to liberate Mosul from ISIS.

Our unique angle on these subjects – and strong intelligence dimension – has earned DEBKAfile a global reputation and a steady readership – which skyrockets in times of crisis.
