(Before It's News)

DEBKAfile was founded by a team of journalists in June 2000 as an independent Internet Web site, providing an intelligence and security news service. October 27, 2016, 3:22 PM (IDT)

Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan said Thursday that his country will continue its military operation in northern Syria to support rebels fighting the Islamic State organization. The operation is now expanding to Al Bab, located about 40 km south of the Turkish border. Erdogan said that after Al Bab is purged of ISIS forces, the operation will target Manbij, controlled by Kurdish fighters, and “then we will go towards Raqqa”, the terrorist organization's capital in Syria.

Our unique angle on these subjects – and strong intelligence dimension – has earned DEBKAfile a global reputation and a steady readership – which skyrockets in times of crisis.
