(Before It's News)

DEBKAfile was founded by a team of journalists in June 2000 as an independent Internet Web site, providing an intelligence and security news service. November 16, 2016, 9:53 AM (IDT)

An Egyptian appeals court on Tuesday overturned the death sentence that was given to the country's previous president, Mohammad Morsi, in 2015. Along with 14 other senior members of the Muslim Brotherhood movement, he had been charged in 2013 with murder and incitement to murder of demonstrators, leaking of secrets to Qatar, and conspiring with the Hamas organization. Morsi was sentenced to death and 40 years in prison.

Our unique angle on these subjects – and strong intelligence dimension – has earned DEBKAfile a global reputation and a steady readership – which skyrockets in times of crisis.
