DEBKAfile was founded by a team of journalists in June 2000 as an independent Internet Web site, providing an intelligence and security news service. November 2, 2016, 12:32 PM (IDT)

The Russian Defense Ministry announced a pause in the air strikes conducted over Aleppo in support of the Syrian army to allow rebels and civilians to exit the city and “avoid senseless victims.”
Rebels would be allowed to leave unharmed and with their weapons between 0900 and 1900 local time on Friday Nov. 4 via two special corridors, from which Syrian troops would be pulled back. Civilians and the sick and wounded would be allowed to leave via six other corridors.

Our unique angle on these subjects – and strong intelligence dimension – has earned DEBKAfile a global reputation and a steady readership – which skyrockets in times of crisis.
