Both Democratic and Republican contenders are bringing out their heaviest guns for a tight race as they criss-cross the swing states in their closing appearances Monday night ahead of the Tuesday election. Most mainstream polls show Donald Trump trailing Hillary Clinton by 1 to 6 percentage points. The polls with the opposite predictions are not widely aired, like the USC Dornsife/Los Angeles Times Daybreak national tracking poll, which puts Trump in the lead by a margin of 48 percent to Clinton’s 43.2 percent, or the IBD/TIPP presidential tracking poll which winds up with Trump ahead of Clinton b y 43 to 41 percent.
Som other polls are too close to call.
Twenty-four hours before the polls open. Trump continues to poach for electors on traditional Democratic turf. (at least 270 needed to win the election). He is making stops at Florida, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, New Hampshire and Michigan.
Hillary Clinton is stumping to save those states from succumbing to her rival. She is hitting Pennsylvania’s two largest cities, Pittsburgh and Philadelphia, as well as Michigan and North Carolina, and rounding off the evening with a rally in Philadelphia featuring President Barack Obama, the first lady, husband Bill, daughter Chelsea and musicians Bruce Springsteen and Jon Bon Jovi.
Trump, whose rallies are routinely packed to overflowing without the help of entertainment stars, is sending his children out on the trail. Sarah Palin will speak for him in North Carolina.
Our unique angle on these subjects – and strong intelligence dimension – has earned DEBKAfile a global reputation and a steady readership – which skyrockets in times of crisis.
