DEBKAfile was founded by a team of journalists in June 2000 as an independent Internet Web site, providing an intelligence and security news service. June 16, 2017, 10:48 PM (IDT)

Angry crowds gathered outside Downing Street and the Kensington and Chelsea Town Hall Friday of residents and victims of the disastrous fire that tore through the Grenfell Tower in North Kensington three days ago.   There were several violent clashes with police. The death toll rose Friday to 30 with searches continuing in the charred high-rise building where at least 70 residents are still missing. More than 200 firefights fought the flames for 24 hours.
PM May approved five million pounds for clothes, food and emergency supplies. But the furious protesters demand re-housing solutions and answers about how what they caledl “a preventable tragedy” was allowed to happen.
The crowd was heard chanting, “Justice for Grenfell”, along with anti-government slogans, including “May must go” and “blood on your hands.” It then moved to Oxford Circus where demonstrators held a sit-down protest, blocking all the traffic.

Our unique angle on these subjects – and strong intelligence dimension – has earned DEBKAfile a global reputation and a steady readership – which skyrockets in times of crisis.
