On Friday October 7th, the Young Americans for Liberty at the George Washington University hosted an event that engaged the student body and asked them to think critically about the limits of voluntary exchange. Students were asked to think about what they should be able to sell without fear of government intervention. This included things like marijuana, weapons, organs, and hugs. They subsequently marked their response in a “yes or no” format with colored stickers.

The event sparked lots of interest, and the community enjoyed participating as it was a very non-committal yet engaging activity that stimulated lots of spirited debate among those taking the survey. GW YAL is extremely pleased with the success of this event, and hopes to continue with events like this in the future that introduce students to the principles of libertarianism and voluntary exchange.
