Today Ole Miss' Rebels For Liberty chapter set out once again to engage our student population in our Fight for Free Speech. A handful of very dedicated volunteers rolled an eight-foot beach ball across campus, stopping occasionally for passer-bys wanting to leave their mark on the ball.
Once set up under the campus flag pole, the ball immediately drew a crowd. Students and faculty alike stopped to see what the ball was all about. Soon after we set up, we had an unexpected visit from two groups of middle schoolers (30 students per group) touring our campus. Their teachers and tour guides were very excited to allow the students to write on the ball. Similarly, we were very excited to explain to young Mississippians how crucially important their first amendment rights are.
Rebels for Liberty is very much looking forward to our coming events on campus and our meeting to follow-up with some of the students we met.
