Yesterday we held our second Spring Recruitment Drive at the University of Massachusetts – Boston. We passed out YAL palm cards and pocket constitution. We had really great conversations with a surprisingly large number of conservative/libertarian students and got more than 10 students to sign up.
We also hosted out first speaker last month; Martin Shkreli came to talk about the pharmaceutical businesses and what was really behind his purchase of a drug called Daraprim and his decision to increase the price. The event went better than we could have expected with more than 150 people in attendance. Overall Martin helped spark a lot of debate around campus, and his lecture helped change a lot of people’s perception of the pharmaceutical businesses and his decision to raise the price of Daraprim.
