End of the War Against Marijuana? with Robert Platshorn
The House of Representatives in Washington recently moved to cut off funding for raids on medical marijuana dispensaries.
The amendment to a spending bill was sponsored by California representatives Sam Farr, a Democrat, and Republican Dana Rohrabacher. It passed on a vote of 219 to 189. A total of 49 GOP members voted in favor of the move, enough to pass the full House.
The Marijuana Policy Project is declaring “Congress is officially pulling out of the war on medical marijuana patients and providers.”
Robert Platshorn is a former marijuana smuggler, who spent years in jail for his crimes against the state. He is now an activist for medical marijuana in Florida, and across the nation.
Platshorn is our guest on the show today. He is here to talk to us about the increasing acceptance of marijuana on the state and federal levels. We will discuss the role played by recreational cannabis in Colorado and Washington, as well as the future of the medical marijuana movement.

It is about time,actually long overdue for reform on marijuana. EVERYONE knows that marijuana is much less dangerous than its legal counterpart:alcohol. People need a course in the truth about why marijuana was made illegal in the first place.
It begins with Hearst(of newspaper fame)and his corner on the market of paper making-from trees. By criminalizing hemp,he single handedly secured his millions by eliminating the renewable resource of hemp,that is being utilized in other countries for a myriad of uses;paper,strong fabric,mixed with concrete for home building and so much more.
By making marijuana a class A narcotic,even the study of its medical uses was brought to a screeching halt here in the USA. But,in other countries researchers are wiping out what was thought to be inoperable brain tumors and other cancers. Hemp oil is also one of the worlds most powerful antiseptics. Hemp also cleans the earth of chemical poisoning when planted where there has been industrial accidents. All of this,is just the beginning too.
Thanks to political corruption and elitism(Hearst/Congress),once again the US is far behind the rest of the world as far as research and development go. That is what happens when our country(its DEA) is run by a bunch of elderly,out of the loop,men just looking to self perpetuate their jobs,despite all evidence to the contrary of marijuana’s safety. Take away their martini’s and these old farts would go ballistic!
