Experts investigate Fin whale death, Suffolk coast, England

A post mortem examination is to be carried out on the body of a whale washed up on the Suffolk coast in an attempt to discover why it died.
Biologists have confirmed it’s a young female Fin Whale.
The body will be towed to Orford where the post mortem will take place.

Body of fin whale should be removed today

The 20ft fin whale became stranded on the beach on Sunday afternoon.
Officials from the Zoological Society of London’s UK Cetacean Strandings Investigation Programme were hoping to carry out an autopsy on Tuesday, but the plan had to be abandoned because the area is a Site of Special Scientific Interest.
