The Difference Between Gingrich and Romney

During World War II (European Theater), the United States could not do without General George S. Patton, Jr.  General Patton was a superb field general.  The enemy feared him.  His men revered him.  He was a man of sharp words and quick action.  He was the greatest battlefield general of the war.  In fact, Patton is my hero and the person I would like to be in charge during any battle or firefight.

On the other hand, the United States could not do without General Dwight D. Eisenhower during World War II (European Theater).  General Eisenhower was General of  the Army, Commander of the Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers, Europe (SHAPE, NATO), Chief of Staff of the United States Army, and Military Governor of the U.S. Occupation Zone in Germany.  General Eisenhower was a superb headquarters general.  The enemy respected him, and the politicians and American people loved him.  For his successes, Ike was elected as the 34th president of the United States (POTUS).

Newt Gingrich can be likened to General Patton.  Newt is a great streetfighter.  He is a superb speaker and debater.  He has great ideas just as Patton did in planning battles.  Patton would never have been elected POTUS because his tongue was too sharp and caustic.  The liberal American press hated Gen. Patton and tore him apart in the media.  Likewise, eventually, most politicians and the American people would grow to dislike Gingrich as POTUS.  Should Gingrich became POTUS, it would be deja vu all over again as it was in the U.S. House of Representatives in the 1990s.  It was Eisenhower who sidlined Patton, but it was also Eisenhower who brought Patton back into action to lead the Third Army, which was instrumental in bringing the War in Europe to a close. Patton was a great military leader, idea man, general, and warfighter.  Gingrich is a great leader, speaker, debater, infighter, and idea man.

On the other hand, Mitt Romney can be likened to General Eisenhower.  Mitt is not a streetfighter, but he is a superb master planner.  He is great at surrounding himself with outstanding, capable people and delegating them the authority to implement his master plan.  Romney is organized, methodical, and a consensus-style leader.  He would not force people to comply but would lead them through mutually respectful persuasion.  He would be a uniter, not a divider.  He would bring world leaders together to work together and create a better world.  Eisenhower was a great military leader, general, and administrator.  Romney is a great leader, corporate executive, former governor, and manager.

So, Republicans, there you go.  You have a choice before you as to whether you desire a George Patton or a Dwight Eisenhower to lead our nation during these trying times.  Obama is out of contention as he has already proven that he cannot lead our nation to greatness.  Therefore, the choice before you is between Newt Gingrich and Mitt Romney.  Choose wisely.
