HOW TO CHARGE CRYSTALS

When we cleaned/cleansed our crystals, we released undesired vibrations that were intentionally (or unintentionally) stored within. After removing and releasing the unwanted entities, the next step is  – restoring (re-charging) the crystal’s energy.

Crystals that are used to attract energy, (like dis-ease energy from the body or clearing negative energy away from a specific space), accumulate that energy, which then needs to be released. Crystals used to transmit energy may become depleted and need to be charged to restore their energy.

After we cleanse or clear a crystal, we next wish to recharge it – bringing it back to its original energetic state. Cleansing crystals is a process of dis-associating the energy from the crystal. Charging crystals is a process of connecting with the type and qualities of energy that we would like to have instilled in them.

The charging process restores the crystal’s special abilities to focus, direct and increase energy.

Cleansing and Charging methods are varied and often similar, using natural resources and their specific energies.

Charging Crystals with Water

Flowing water increases the energy of purity. If your crystals can withstand a salt bath, put them in sea water during high tide to increase vitality and energy – at low tide for rest and relaxation.

Charging Crystals with Sunlight

One of the most powerful ways to charge crystals is to expose them to sunlight – which introduces the sun’s active yang energy into them. Be careful when exposing certain crystals (like amethyst) to the sun, for prolonged periods of time, because they may fade in color. Place your crystals on a windowsill, or outdoors. A few hours of sunlight will re-energize most crystals.

Charging Crystals with Moonlight

Moonlight is both a gentle and penetrating way to recharge your crystals. The Moon’s ascending phase (waxing) coming to full – denotes new beginnings, optimism, hope. The waning, descending phase signifies something to be diminished, released – like negativity, debt or illness. Full moon relates to love and abundance. New Moon represents meditation and contemplation.

Charging Crystals with Earth Energy

By burying your crystals into the earth, you will instill earth energies (attraction, strength, magnetism). You can bury them in a pot of soil indoors, too.

Charging Crystals in Electrical Storms

Place your crystals outside in a thunderstorm for a power charge of negative ions from the lightning.

Charging Crystals with Crystals

One of the easiest ways to charge your crystal is by placing it atop a larger, Clear Quartz crystal, or Clear Quartz crystal cluster.

Another method is with a ” target=”_blank”>Crystal Layout: You can combine this method with any of the other methods for recharging crystals.

Place several single and double-terminated clear quartz crystals around the cluster or around the crystal itself. Arrange the crystals to the four directions, east, south, west, north, (known as the Medicine Shield). The crystals will direct new energy to recharge the crystal in the center.

If you wish to charge your crystal with a certain vibration, for example – love, add crystals to the layout that harbor that resonance, such as rose quartz.

Charging Crystals with Sound

You may also tune your crystals in harmony with the resonance of a bell, tuning fork, or singing bowl. Place your crystal next to the bell (tuning fork, bowl) and gently produce a sound.

Charging Crystals with Thought Waves

Your thoughts also influence your crystals. If you notice that your crystals appear cloudy or dark, perhaps your thoughts of late have also been cloudy or dark. Your crystals absorb your energy – be it light or dark energy. If you find that you’re leaning towards the dark side, clean your crystals thoroughly (and perhaps purge those negative thoughts!) and charge them. Visualize your crystals (and your thoughts) being bathed in love and light.

Charging Crystals with Reiki and other symbols

You can charge your crystals with Reiki symbols (or other symbols), by projecting the symbol’s mind image into and through the crystal.

Charging your crystals enables them to renew their abilities to direct and amplify energy and vibrations. Regular charging of your crystals will keep the energy of the crystals focused on you – and your personal vibrations  -  attracting positive energy.
