Facebook unethical decision to cooperate with Israeli Security agencies – By Ziad Khalil Abu Zayyad

It seems that Israel succeeded to convince Facebook to join its efforts in censoring Palestinians from saying their opinion while they are still under Israeli occupation. A Facebook delegation in an unlikely manner visited Israel and met with Israeli officials prior to their joint statement that they will cooperate to censor Palestinian Status/Posts on Facebook.

The reaction came shortly from Freedom activists and Arab/Palestinian activists as well by declaring a boycott campaign for two hours on Sunday the 25th of September from 20:00 to 22:00 Jerusalem time. The Israeli achievement in obliging Facebook to cooperate with its security agencies was expected after Israel started using Facebook material to send young Palestinians to Jail for several years claiming that they encouraged violence. While Freedom of Internet remains a question asked to the governments of the leading powers in the world, now private companies such as Facebook is showing cooperation without even hiding it with intelligence and security agencies to control what flows in the internet. A few weeks ago, private security companies discovered that Israeli Security Company that works with the Israeli Intelligence service tried to hack an Arab Human Rights activist and following that Apple issued a security update for all IPhone users.

Facebook unethical decision to cooperate with Israeli Security agencies is illegal by all means and contradicts with the International Law. The State of Palestine is under occupation and Facebook cooperation with Israel by law is considered an illegal action against Palestinians using its services geographically from occupied Palestinian lands. Cases in court would be on the way specially that Palestinians refused the recent Facebook decision and promised to fight it in every legal way.
