The Israeli Palestinian conflict is not about religion but it is definitely religious. This may sound weird but when the conflict is observed from different angles than the ones that we are used to, we would find out many reasons that we did not think about while trying to understand why no one till now succeeded in solving this conflict that seems to be a title for the historical conflict over the holy land.
Israel whether at the time of signing the Oslo accords or at this moment did and will not have any real intentions to fully withdraw from the 1967 occupied lands for the sake of reaching a peace agreement with its enemy
which remains unfortunately as the Palestinian people before talking about political movements or leaders. The reasons why Israel would never withdraw or sign an agreement that ends its presence in the Palestinian occupied lands vary but the main concrete ones are:
All of the above can be summarized in one word: COLONIALISM. Israel remains as the only state that is practicing colonialism according to the teachings of the old school and tries to advance it to the modern one by trying to maintain a Palestinian authority regardless of who leads it in order to control the Palestinian lands indirectly. This plan did not succeed since the Palestinians succeeded in obtaining a recognition of their state and not authority from the majority of the world in the General Assembly. Such a recognition with the surprising lasting of the Palestinians in the face of the occupation made the Israeli strategies fall apart while trying to show that everything is still under control.
The Palestinian strategy succeed in facing the Israeli colonial gains from occupation and made it more expensive ethically and economically for the Israeli leadership and people:
Would Israel wake up to understand that the strategy of directing the conflict for the sake of some benefits is only costing more than it brings when talking about gains and losses in the long term?
