Jordan condemns launching ballistic missile towards Mecca
Amman, Oct. 28 (Petra) — Jordan has strongly condemned Yemen’s Houthi
rebels for targeting Mecca with a ballistic missile, which was intercepted
by Saudi forces 65-km south of the holy city.
Minister of State for Media Affairs and Communications and Government
Spokesman Mohammed Al Momani said that such heinous acts do not serve the
Yemeni cause, nor the Arab and Muslim causes. They, however, provoke the
feelings of Muslims around the globe.
Any attack against holy places would expand the cycle of violence, the
minister said, while reiterating calls to adhere to legitimacy and restore
security to Yemen.
Jordan considers the security of the GCC-states as an integral part of its
security, the minister said, adding that the attack would undermine efforts
to achieve truce and realize peace in Yemen.
