Automobiles, Motorcycles and Libertarian Politics

It’s interesting to watch “law enforcement” attempt to enforce nonexistent laws. In this case, non-laws forbidding video recording of “public servants”  out in public. And non-laws forbidding open carry (perfectly legal here). Never are these “law enforcers” chastened – let alone fired – for abusing the law, for acting contrary to the law.

In this video (extended version here), the first law enforcer begins with a belligerent demand not to be filmed, lying that it is a federal offense. Further, when he doesn’t get his way using persuasion, as any normal peaceful person has to resort to, he thinks he has the prerogative to attempt to steal one the video camera of the person recording.  It is not uncommon for armed government workers (“law enforcement”) to  steal property when they don’t get their way, as evidenced by this video.

The angry non-law-enforcer then calls in more goons to assist him.

One who responded and identified himself was doing his best to diffuse this extremely tense situation with respect, courtesy, and understanding. This armed government worker eventually called off the others.
