Are We Wasting Our Time?

Hundreds of emails bombard my in-basket every day. I sift through them and send off to my distribution list of about 100 people only those materials I believe has merit to them. That isn’t to say that some of the questionable stuff doesn’t get through me. Everyone must weigh the information against what they know and believe and use the materials they trust and have faith in. I think we should question the authors of the papers, articles, and commentary we read to ascertain the veracity of the assertions and claims they make. It is definitely true that we conservatives can be Kool-Aid drinkers just as much as can the liberal, Democrat, and progressive camps.

Remember, there are those on the opposite side of the aisle who believe strongly that everything that Glenn Beck espouses are false, lies, and untrue. I have liberal friends that are very vehement about that. Still, we should weigh what he says against what we know and believe and then weigh them against what the liberals, Democrats, and progressives are saying about each issue. You would be absolutely correct to question everything you receive from me and others. However, please try hard not to get totally disillusioned and turned off with the information you receive. Sometimes I get so disheartened and/or confused with all of the conflicting information that I receive that I wonder if anything I receive is true or not.

The so-called liberal mainstream media (MSM) does not publish a lot of significant information because, I believe, they are the lapdogs of the Obama administration. You can arrive at that conclusion by the manner in which they present their side of the argument regarding all of the information that Glenn Beck and Fox News present. If the MSM attacks the messenger (e.g., Beck, Fox News, talk radio, Internet website publications, etc.), doesn’t present any facts to counter the assertions made by the conservative camp, ignores and doesn’t challenge the presented facts, and/or creates lies (such as Janeane Garofalo calling all tea baggers who oppose Obama’s policies as racists rednecks) and state it to the media, then I would tend to believe what is being said by Beck et al. even though the MSM doesn’t cover any of the new revelations. That’s why I call them the lame-stream media (LSM).

Many issues are still highly controversial, but the MSM will not thoroughly investigate and cover them. For example, the birthers’ claim about Obama’s birth certificate is not covered thoroughly by the MSM. Even Bill O’Reilly and Glenn Beck at Fox News discount the birthers’ claim and refuse to give their concerns any credence. Another example is the global warming issue, which seems to be dying a quick death because the pro-global-warming pseudo-scientists manipulated the data. Who do we believe? Do we believe the warmers or those who debunk the warmers? I believe that the debunkers of global warming are winning that debate.

I believe that we all must force ourselves to maintain an open mind, question the assertions that people make, and not get discouraged with what we receive, read, and hear. If those of us who care about our country don’t do what’s required to keep her safe, then all could be lost if the information ends up to be the truth. Like Glenn Beck, when and if we are asked by our kids and grandkids 10 years from now about what we are talking about today, he hopes and I hope that we are wrong on our quest to unveil all of the scary things we read about. I hope we are wrong on all of these things because if we are wrong, then our nation will be intact in 10 years instead of totally demised or turned into a Marxist-socialist state.

Things can happen very quickly. That’s why we must remain vigilant, informed, and prepared for any and all ill eventualities. If we do not tend the store, then the store can be robbed or vandalized. All the others (including my own children) are busy on raising their families. They take their kids to soccer games and piano and dance recitals. They watch sports and reality shows on television. They work, serve in church, attend school, serve in the community, serve in professional organizations, and perform the myriad other important things that take up their time 24/7. Hence, they do not spend the necessary time to get educated and familiarized with all of the insidious things that are occurring in our society. Therefore, we cannot depend on them to be ready to counteract the onslaught of both natural and man-made catastrophes, crises, and disasters when and if they occur.

Much of the material in my book, Obama’s Agenda, is repeated information you’ve read or seen on Fox News. That is why I attempted also to include information from many of the other outlets on television, radio, newspapers, magazines, and the Internet. I tried hard to include information taken from the liberal MSM (both television and printed media), The Huntington Post, and other very liberal publications and sources instead of just conservative sources.

I’ll keep on going with the things I am doing as long as the daily breaking news appear to be detrimental to the well-being of our country. I’ve served in the United States Air Force (USAF) for over 12 years. Of those 12 years, 4 years were in the Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps (AFROTC) and 8 years were on active duty. Additionally, I worked over a quarter century on defense systems in the aerospace and defense industries. Currently, I work in security-related organizations in the community. Since I’ve been involved with protecting our country throughout my lifetime, I don’t imagine I will quit until or if I find in 10 years that I’ve been wasting my time.
