And the listening stations outside of birtherstan report today that we have confirmation that Inmate Lakin’s sentence was affirmed by the US Army. Racism? Among birthers? The deuce you say. Both CNN and Fox News say that yes, Obama was born in the United States, cope.

Anderson Cooper debunks Trump – repeatedly. Franklin Graham is trying to be the Grand Mufti of Birtherstan. Dr. Kate gives some idea of when she started to go crazy, though evidence shows it was much earlier. Fitzpatrick is rehashing debunked stories, while Carl Swensson hints that Fitzpatrick is even less stable than feared.

Sharon Rondeau is seeing the State of Hawaii in her breakfast cereal. Colorado comes up with a birther bill, Connecticut shoots one down. And Reince Priebus is trying to keep birtherism from splashing on the GOP.

22 April – The Army Times confirms that Inmate Lakin’s sentence was affirmed.

“The commander of the Military District of Washington is affirming the six-month prison sentence of an Army doctor who disobeyed deployment orders because he doubted President Barack Obama’s eligibility to serve as commander-in-chief.

A spokeswoman said Friday that Army Maj. Gen. Karl Horst has approved the findings and sentence of Lt. Col. Terrence Lakin’s court-martial in December.

Lakin was sentenced to six months at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas, for refusing to go to Afghanistan.”

22 April – Fareed Zakaria comments on the reasons for Trump’s birtherism – and birtherism in general.

“Then there is the ‘birther’ issue. I regard this as coded racism, frankly. I don’t think there’s any other word for it.

For goodness’ sake, George Stephanopoulos displayed Obama’s Certificate of Live Birth on network TV and this rumor still doesn’t die. Put it this way: If the President was a white man named John Smith with the other background issues being the same – foreign student father, mother in Hawaii, etc. – would there be any of these dark insinuations? Trump should be ashamed of himself. But then, I suppose, he wouldn’t be Donald Trump.

I don’t think that the ‘birther’ issue the real appeal of Trump, anyway. It has just helped Trump get free media and rise up in the polls. His real appeal is the fantasy that he can somehow get us out of the mess we’re in.

The reality, however, is that only we can get us out of the mess we’re in.”

“MR. GREGORY: He also has controversial views, Anita Dunn. Just to name a couple, that he would go in in Libya and actually take oil wells away, take control of the oil. He’s got a very–some facile answers for some of the more vexing problems on the international arena. Again, within the White House, they love to hear him talked about, they love to see him a force, but they get particularly angry when he gets more attention on this birther business, whether the president was born in the United States, which he was.

MS. DUNN: Which he was, thank you. I think if you see the number of Republicans and conservative commentators who attack Donald Trump on this issue, it shows you how concerned the Republican Party really is about a Trump candidacy. I mean, you have a pretty broad group of people attacking him. And, you know, I mean the fact of the matter is that the president was born in the United States. He has a birth certificate.

MR. GREGORY: Right.

MS. DUNN: It’s been online, if I can say this, since 2008.”

24 April – And it looks like Franklin Graham is trying to be the religious leader of birtherstan.

“AMANPOUR: Your father, who has been an adviser at the highest levels of power in the United States for so long. How does he think — how does he think of today’s America and today’s Christian world?

GRAHAM: Well, I was with him not long ago, and he said, “the world in which I was born, I don’t recognize anymore.” He just doesn’t recognize the world in which he grew up, where people were civil to each other. Politicians, even though they may disagree, were polite to one another and worked together. All of that has changed in our country today.”

Yes. In part due to the people Franklin Graham hangs around with and supports.

“GRAHAM: Well, the president, I know, has some issues to deal with here. He can solve this whole birth certificate issue pretty quickly. I don’t — I was born in a hospital in Ashville, North Carolina, and I know that my records are there. You can probably even go and find out what room my mother was in when I was born.

I don’t know why he can’t produce that. So, I’m not — I don’t know, but it’s an issue that looks like he could answer pretty quickly.

As it relates to Muslim, there are many people that do wonder where he really stands on that. Now, he has told me that he is a Christian. But the debate comes, what is a Christian?

For him, going to church means he’s a Christian. For me, the definition of a Christian is whether we have given our life to Christ and are following him in faith, and we have trusted him as our Lord and Savior.

That’s the definition of a Christian, it’s not as to what church you’re a member of. A membership doesn’t make you a Christian”

24 April – Something I’ve been puzzling about. In a comment thread on Dr. Kate’s cesspool, the question is made of when the various people there discovered “the truth” (in other words, when they left reality and started to believe the birther lies.)

21 October was when Berg claimed that Obama and the DNC “admitted” his claims (they did no such thing, which didn’t stop Berg from trying for a summary judgement in his favour). And SR 511 was the Senate bill recognizing that McCain was a Natural Born US citizen.

Note the fact that the DNC didn’t “steal” any votes. Hillary Clinton was granted the votes she gained in those states. The problem there was that none of the Democratic candidates should have campaigned in or been on the ballot in those states due to their violation of DNC rules, a rule that Hillary Clinton did break. I wrote about that fact back on 31 July 2008

And personally I never understood why they flocked to Sarah Palin like that when Palin went against everything Hillary Clinton stood for, and the only things they had in common was gender and species.

But then Dr. Kate chimed in with her date:

It sounds to me like Dr. Kate got swept up in Berg’s lawsuit and the various PUMA hopes attached to it.

What’s even more funny? The very first time Dr. Kate showed up on my radar was 1 August 2008!

Obama was at that time, did that mean he was born on a ship or plane in mid-ocean, or even up in Canada. It’s blindingly obvious they’re fishing for ANYTHING they can use.

1 August – And “TexasDarlin” starts out the month with promises of future “Judah Benjamin” stories. (I have to admire her honesty, at least she’s calling them “stories”. Though “fables”, “myths”, and “bald-faced lies” might be a bit more accurate.

She also promises a upcoming article from a “Dr. Kate” about “The Canada Theory”. I’m going to hazard a guess and assume this is the claim that Sen. Obama was born in Canada, right? (Let’s see, they’ve claimed, Canada, Indonesia, Kenya, and the Phillipines. They are really grasping at straws on the citizenship issue, aren’t they?)

7 August – “Dr. Kate” over at “TexasDarlin” posts, no not “the Canada Theory”, but a call for people to take the information “TechDude”, “Judah Benjamin”, and the rest of the fraudsters, contact their state’s Secretary of State or “state republican party, who was very interested in the information”, and challenge Sen. Obama’s right to be on the ballot due to:

“1. DUAL CITIZENSHIP: Obama likely had, and may still have, INDONESIAN and/or KENYAN CITIZENSHIP, and therefore is ineligible to be POTUS under Art. II of the Constitution (NOTE: this is NOT about where he was born or whether he’s a US citizen. It’s about DUAL CITIZENSHIP, which creates DIVIDED LOYALTIES.

2. PHONY BIRTH CERTIFICATE: Obama has REFUSED to show a hard copy of his REAL BIRTH CERTIFICATE. Evidence suggests that his BC may be in the name of BARRY SOETORO because he was likely adopted by his step-father LOLO SOETORO. Has Obama been LYING ABOUT HIS DUAL CITIZENSHIP, LEGAL NAME, AND IDENTITY?”

By the way, notice how that directly contradicts Dr. Kate’s current claim that it was ALWAYS about the two person “Natural Born Citizen” thing. The only comment she has on citizenship is Berg’s Indonesian citizen bugbear, and the claims to Kenyan citizenship.

25 April – Oh look. It’s Walter Fitzpatrick at the Pest and eFail.

26 April – So professional seditionist Sharon Rondeau got a threaty email (join the club, I get worse from birthers all the time)

Okay, threats by anyone are uncool, but seriously, thinking there’s some tie to the State of Hawaii or any of it’s offices is such a leap that Rondeau would hold the world record if jumping to conclusions was an olympic sport.

The funny thing? Rondeau reports that the IP address on said threatening email was 24.113.145.190. Which resolves to Port Angeles, Washington, near Walter Fitzpatrick’s old stomping ground.

25 April – Interesting observation on the conspiracy-minded.

“Know any conspiracy theorists? No doubt they’ve tried to convince you that man didn’t really land on the moon or President Obama was born in Kenya.

In fact, they were imparting genuinely interesting information — about themselves. New research suggests belief in such theories may reveal a Machiavellian mindset.

“These studies suggest that people who have more lax personal morality may endorse conspiracy theories to a greater extent because they are, on average, more willing to participate in the conspiracies themselves.”

This may be why they’re so willing to believe people like Polland/Polarik and Lucas Smith…..

25 April – Donald Trump claims Obama’s birth certificate is “missing”.

“Well I’ve been told very recently, Anderson, that the birth certificate is missing,” Trump told CNN’s Anderson Cooper Monday. “I’ve been told that it’s not there or it doesn’t exist. And if that’s

the

case it’s a big problem.”

However….

“When asked from whom he received the information, Trump said he didn’t want to say and that he feels bad about the situation.”

So, World Nut Daily, or from the various “homework assignments” he’s been giving birthers.

“CNN’s Gary Tuchman also interviewed the former director of the Hawaii Department of Health, who said she has seen the original birth certificate in the vault at the Department of Health.”

Trump also claims the COLB is a “much lower standard of proof”. However:

“This document, which is a computerized abstract of his birth information that the State of Hawaii issues to individuals requesting their birth records, satisfies proof-of-birth requirements for various federal matters, including obtaining a passport.”

And the video comments that nobody CNN talked to in Hawaii has encountered any of Trump’s so-called “investigators” either. And Trump refuses to state who his “investigators” talked to. Hmmmm……

25 April – Trump is once again suggesting that Obama was admitted to Harvard due to……other reasons.

“Real estate mogul Donald Trump suggested in an interview Monday that President Barack Obama had been a poor student who did not deserve to be admitted to the Ivy League universities he attended.”

O RLY??

Of course he didn’t offer proof.

25 April – Looks like Colorado wants in on the birther bill thing.

“The concurrent resolution requires any person elected to public office in the state of Colorado to provide proof of citizenship along with the oath of office,” the resolution states. “If an elected officer fails to file proof of citizenship, the office is deemed vacant.”

The measure appears to be Colorado’s first legislative foray into the “birther” controversy surrounding President Obama’s citizenship which has ignited the Republican base.

Many GOP leaders claim President Obama has failed to produce convicing evidence that he was born in the United States, and is not eligible to serve as President.

The White House and the state of Hawaii have produced Obama’s birth certificate, but that hasn’t stopped some conservatives from questioning its legitimacy.”

25 April – CNN reports the results of their investigation.

“Skeptics contend, among other things, that Obama was born in his father’s home country of Kenya. Potential GOP presidential candidate Donald Trump recently seized on the issue, saying he had doubts about Obama’s background.

CNN investigators in Honolulu found nothing to reinforce those doubts.”

Indeed.

“Dr. Chiyome Fukino, a former director of the Hawaii Department of Health and a Republican, told CNN in her most extensive comments to date that she has “no doubt” Obama was born in the state.

Obama’s 2008 campaign produced a certification of live birth, a document legally accepted as confirmation of a birth and routinely used for official purposes. Fukino went one step further, taking advantage of a state law that allows certain public officials to examine a person’s actual birth certificate if there is a “direct and tangible interest.”

The president’s certificate, she said, is stored in a vault in the building that houses the Department of Health. Ironically, unlike the certificate of live birth, it is no longer accepted for official usage.

Obama’s certificate is “absolutely authentic,” she said. “He was absolutely born here in the state of Hawaii.”

She’s speaking out a lot more on this subject since leaving office. And this is her first camera appearance.

“Could Obama’s 1961 birth announcement in the Honolulu Star-Bulletin be a fake? Some conspiracy theorists say yes. Longtime Honolulu newspaper reporter Dan Nakaso says no.

“It’s not possible,” Nakaso said. “Under the system that existed back then, there was no avenue for people to submit information that way. … The information came directly from the state Department of Health.”

Indeed, as CNN confirmed, all birth announcements at the time came directly from hospital birth records.”

Which is what people have been telling the birthers for years now.

“Could Obama, a self-proclaimed Christian, be preventing the distribution of copies of the original birth certificate because it identifies him as a Muslim?

Fukino says no. The original certificate includes no mention of the president’s religion. And indeed, other original certificates from that time don’t mention faith.”

So much for that claim.

“Obama could file a Freedom of Information Act request to view his original birth certificate and make copies. But at this point, the White House maintains, nothing will satisfy the doubters.”

That’s putting it mildly.

The video shows a gentleman born around the same time as Obama going to getting a copy of his birth certificate. And what is he given? A COLB that looks just like Obama’s.

So much for the “lower standard of proof” claim.

26 April – Anderson Cooper’s “Keeping Them Honest” does a “Dispelling the ‘birther’ myth.

26 April – Oh dear. The Pest and eFail is getting upset over the fact that the State of Hawaii COLB is getting repeatedly confirmed as legitimate.

“What’s with all the Noise in the MSM about the Faked HI COLB being “Real”???”

Because it IS real, has been confirmed by State officials as such, and it’s only conspiracy cranks claiming otherwise??

What’s interesting is that the State of Hawaii doesn’t certify the original version for purposes of citizenship, passports, drivers license. The COLB is actually more official to State officials. Which seems to be something Trump doesn’t want to hear.

26 April – The Pest and eFail talks to Carl Swensson about his hearing date in Tennessee.

However, this part is troubling:

Swensson told him that “Fitzpatrick will not allow himself to be taken,” and at that point the duty agent said, “Of all the information you gave me, this concerns me the most.”

I bet it does. They’re starting to get really worried Fitzpatrick might try for “suicide by cop”.

26 April – And when challenged, Donald Trump doubles down.

Anderson Cooper challenges Trump point by point, and Trump tries to talk over Cooper, bringing up just about every birther claim he can in trying to get something to stick. Cooper even plays Sarah Obama’s tape to challenge Trump’s claim of Kenyan birth, which Trump blows off by claiming she was bullied by Obama’s “minions”. Cooper also points out they took a guy off to get his Hawaiian “birth certificate”, and he was given a COLB, which Trump also blows off.

Trump comes across as trying to filibuster quite frankly. Like he doesn’t want his ideas challenged by facts and the truth. Just like any other birther.

26 April – Franklin Graham seems to have slept though the “bearing false witnesses” classes in seminary.

“The two then turned to Obama’s religion. Graham told Christiane Amanpour that, though Obama had told him personally that he was a Christian, there was still a “debate” around what constitutes a true Christian, and he was not sure Obama was meeting the standard of having “given [his] life to Christ.”

O’Donnell was incredulous that Obama’s personal word was not apparently good enough for Graham. Graham replied, “nobody knows a man’s heart except God.” O’Donnell pointed out that this meant that Graham didn’t really know if any of the people he preached to were really Christians.”

I don’t know about the people who Graham preaches to. But I have my doubts that Franklin Graham himself is a Christian….

26 April – The Daily Mail comments on US birthers and their numbers.

“His apparent obsession with seeing the president’s birth certificate has attracted the wrath of politicians and actors – not least Robert De Niro, who likened him to a ‘car salesman’.

But Donald Trump’s relentless birther campaign received a significant boost today when a poll revealed fewer than four in ten American voters believe Barack Obama was definitely born in the U.S.

But the poll showed Mr Trump’s own background is also under the spotlight – fewer than half those who completed it said they were sure he was born on American soil.”

But the birthers believe it’s 91% After all, World Nut Daily told them so!!

“His high-profile allegations about the president’s origins appear to have gained traction with voters, with 38 per cent saying they are not convinced he was born in America, according to the USA Today-commissioned poll.

But the poll also revealed a blow to Mr Trump’s White House ambitions.

When any Hawaiian citizen asks for a copy of their birth certificate they receive the same short-form computer generated version as Mr Obama, certified for all legal purposes.

The channel even took a Hawaiian man born the day after Mr Obama to pick up a copy of his birth certificate. Like Mr Obama, Stig Waidelich was given a computer generated version.

His birth was advertised in the same August 1961 edition of the Honolulu Star-Bulletin as Mr Obama’s, an announcement many birthers have condemned as fake.”

Betcha they’ll claim Stig Waidelich is fake or a plant.

26 April – Another birther bill (this time Connecticut’s) bites the dust.

“A proposal introduced by state Sen. Michael McLachlan, R-Danbury, that would require presidential candidates to provide the state with a copy of their birth certificate is officially dead.

The proposal, in fact, never made it out of the committee where McLachlan suggested it.

The deadline for bills to move forward from the General Elections and Administration committee was April 16.

A staff member with the committee said Tuesday that the proposal is officially “dead” and that the measure didn’t receive a public hearing.”

26 April – Fox News joins CNN in stating that Obama is a Natural Born US citizen who was born in this country, responding to Franklin Graham’s ignoring the “bearing false witnesses” part of the Bible.

26 April – And the White House responds to Franklin Graham.

“The White House is going on the birther offensive, slamming evangelist Franklin Graham for suggesting President Obama may not have been born in the U.S.

White House spokesman Jay Carney dismissed Graham’s remarks as ludicrous.

“I think it’s unfortunate that a religious leader would choose Easter Sunday to make preposterous charges,” Carney said Monday.”

26 April – Meanwhile, RNC chairman Reince Priebus is trying to keep the stink of birther off the GOP.

Yeah, good luck with that.

“Donald Trump has spent weeks raising questions about President Barack Obama’s birth certificate, but Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus said Tuesday that so-called “birther” claims are a distraction from more pressing issues facing the nation.

“Trump and the candidates can talk about it all they want, but my position is that the president was born in the United States,” Priebus told reporters at a breakfast hosted by the Christian Science Monitor.”

Maybe if the people in your party would stop playing flirty games with birthers, you might luck out with that idea.
