Congress isn’t just broken; it’s broke

While we American citizens work our 40 to 60 hour weeks, month in and month out, our elected officials in Washington DC continually do everything they can to break the American middle class.  They outsource, offshore and insource our jobs. They import over 100,000 green card holders every month.   They vote for $700 billion annual trade deficits. They build other nations while our infrastructure disintegrates.

More than likely, you think your senator works for you, but the fact remains that all 100 senators fail daily in their representation of the average American worker.  That’s why we suffer 15 million unemployed, 45 million subsisting on food stamps, millions living off welfare and a $15 trillion national debt.  It didn’t happen by chance.  It happened because men like Senators John McCain, Charles Schumer, Mark Udall, Michael Bennett and women like Diane Feinstein, Barbara Boxer and others continually vote against enforcing our laws, creating jobs and working for Americans.

Thus, the Halls of Congress are not only broken; the government is broke.

Rookie U.S. Senator Marco Rubio of Florida said, “I’m sorry to report that once again last night the senate voted on yet another continuing resolution. Just another Band-Aid stop gap measure that only serves to avoid confronting our long term challenges with bold solutions.  When I first got to here, I fought against the idea we could continue to run things this way. That these “CRs” as they are called, should remind us of how we got here in the first place. Why are we funding government in two or three week increments? Because when Democrats ran the House, Senate and the White House, they didn’t pass a budget.”

But neither did the Republicans.  George W. Bush didn’t know a penny from a dollar.  He may have been one of the most incompetent presidents ever to inhabit the White House.  At the same time, Barack Obama never held any office higher than a community organizer and rose to U.S. senator, not by accomplishments, but by the power of his silvery tongue.  Why has he floundered on job creation for the past four years?  He doesn’t know how to fix the problem when the solutions are right in front of his face.

1.      Bring back manufacturing, textiles, rubber, and car production back to the USA.

2.      Rescind NAFTA, GATT, CAFTA and other negative trade agreements.

3.      Stop importing 125,000 green card holders every 30 days.

4.      Stop outsourcing, insourcing and offshoring of American jobs.

5.      Implement tax systems where corporations pay their fair share instead of very little.

6.      Engage a massive effort toward alternative energy.

7.      Engage job training for the poor, jobs for the poor.

How many other Congressional critters are voting for bills or ignoring bills because they don’t know what they are doing?

We need:

Yes to a balanced budget amendment.
Yes to true limited government policies that create a growth economy.
Yes to fundamental tax reforms that once and for all make sense for everyone.

Yes to building our own infrastructure.

Yes to alternative energy research and development.

Yes to a national 10 cent deposit on all bottles, cans and plastic containers.

Yes to standards in high schools that promote intelligent citizens.

Yes to jobs training for all citizens.

Yes to working on every teenager graduating from high school to create an educated citizenry.

No to continued war in Iraq and Afghanistan.

No to endless immigration until we can sustain our own workers.

No to more trade deficits.
