They Killed Our Ambassador, What Will Obama Do?

Jimmy Carter was a miserable failure as president who found himself facing charges of impotence as commander in chief after the Iranian hostage crisis and a botched rescue attempt.  Obama owns the worst economy in post depression history and now Libyans have flushed our ambassador out of the consulate and killed him.

Gunmen had attacked and burned the U.S.
consulate in the eastern city of Benghazi, a center of last year’s
uprising against Muammar Gaddafi, late on Tuesday evening, killing one
U.S. consular official. The building was evacuated.

The
Libyan official said the ambassador, Christopher Stevens, was being
driven from the consulate building to a safer location when gunmen
opened fire.

“The American
ambassador and three staff members were killed when gunmen fired rockets
at them,” the official in Benghazi told Reuters.

There was no immediate comment from the State Department in Washington. [Reuters]

No response from Washington?  They flush our ambassador out of the consulate by attacking it and then kill him with rockets in his heavily armed motorcade?

Who are these people who did this?  Might they be the folks that Obama helped as they captured and killed Gadaffi?  The protesters in Egypt are the folks who helped in the uprising which took over that country.

Commentators said that Obama’s convention speech was uninspired, like it was being delivered by a man who was confident in the outcome of the election.

The combination of events right before the election makes Obama’s response all that much more important.  He can seize this moment to establish himself as a strong leader and thus enhance his chances of winning. But he couldn’t risk waiting on luck to deliver this opportunity to him.

Keep your eyes open and your mind open as well.  We are now at a very dangerous moment in time.
