How dumb is Erick Erickson? This Dumb

How dumb is Erick Erickson? Well, to tell the truth, I have occasionally wondered to myself if he isn’t the inbred bastard-child of a Southern Senator that needs to be propped up to make a living. So, there’s that! LOL But I digress.

More seriously, he’s actually dumb enough to force me into agreeing with Andrew Sullivan for perhaps the first time in my 9 plus years of blogging.

How does the right react to a smart young writer trying patiently to bring its agenda back to what he thinks is a winning formula?  Erick Erickson calls him a faggot. Not in those words, exactly, but by egregiously, pre-preemptively dismissing Barro’s arguments in the following way: more Gay-Baiting Josh Barro - quoting Erickson: “Josh Barro is a late twenty-something gay male who hates conservatives“

Now, policy-wise, I’m no fan of this Josh Barro and am probably more in line with Erickson on that score. But really, what does Barro’s sexuality have to do with whatever argument Erickson was trying rather poorly to make?  And believe me, substantively that nonsense of Erick’s I linked is utter tripe. Answer – it has NOTHING to do with anything, unless it’s intended as sort of code to Erick’s readers – Oh btw – Barro’s a fag, wink, wink, nudge, nudge.

So, fresh off a humiliating experience on Fox News that led to Megyn Kelly basically humiliating him on air because of his simple-minded position on women in the workplace (video below), this would-be national voice of conservatism has to come out and take a mindless and completely unnecessary swipe at homosexuals. The worst part is, I don’t think he’s even sharp enough to realize that’s what he did – just as he wasn’t sharp enough to comprehend his insult to working women, causing him to double-down on that foolishness before Kelly finally took him in hand.

For the record, I don’t think the problem with the GOP, or conservatism is conservative positions.

However, what one of it’s problems is, is dumb-assed wannabe pundit careerists who can’t keep from putting their fat little feet in their mouths. Generally speaking, Erick Erickson has never been significant enough to damage the conservative movement. Now, thanks in large part to Erickson’s earlier bit of stupidity, we have this to contend with today: “Mississippi governor: Educational troubles began when ‘mom is in the workplace’ — VIDEO.”

Here’s a thought, Erick – if you don’t have the sense, judgement and or wisdom to genuinely help the movement when you write or run your mouth, at least have the good judgment to STFU and stop hurting it for a while. Haven’t you learned anything by now? The embarrassing entries in your Wiki are already too long to quote here without it being viewed as over-kill.

Time and again you have forced people to spend more time defending you, than you have ever done much of anything altruistic to advance the cause for its own sake. Sorry, buddy but if you want to ridiculously dish out  crap like this: The Truth May Hurt, But Is Not Mean, surely you can handle a little truth coming back your way, right?

Oh, and please learn the difference between complimentary and complementary for goodness sake.  I mean, seriously, what are you, a moron?? Your Redstate title says, “Editor,” try acting like one, instead of a juvenile – and a dumb one of those: ”Sorry folks, this is just hard truth.  Husbands and wives should play (sic)complimentary roles w/ dad as breadwinner.”
