(Before It's News)

We remember the day in 1469 that Ferdinand married Isabella.

Years later, they sponsored Columbus’ trip and the rest is history.    Columbus’ discovery of what we now call The New World led to a period of great prosperity and imperial supremacy for Spain.

The Muslims were also driven out of Spain during their very consequential reign.

Ferdinand died in 1516 and Isabella in 1504.
