Today is a beautiful day to be in God’s House for Praise and Worship. Last Sunday at the time of this publication we raised a prayer for the people of Cedar Rapids in advance of flood waters that were threatening that City. This Sunday we raise some praise to the Lord for what he has done in his Mercy to spare that City and its residents from disaster. We asked for his Mercy in the name of Jesus Christ and he provided it.

This Sunday I ask all who are reading to raise up in prayer the people of the Caribbean who are facing the destruction of Hurricane Matthew. Hurricane Matthew is at Category 5 strength and some of the most impoverished people in the Caribbean are in its path. Nonetheless I am reminded of the events of September 2004 when Hurricane Ivan was at Category 5 strength and on course to hit Jamaica squarely. It was a pitiful sight watching lots of very poor people doing their best to face a monster that was going to wipe them out. As a feeling of Doom swept over the island their Prime Minister went on the radio and declared a day of National Prayer. “Have prayer on your lips as you set your hands to the task of making preparations”. History records the miracle that followed. Hurricane Ivan made a sharp 90 degree turn and instead of hitting the island directly is brushed the western coast. Jamaica was spared the full on destruction of Ivan by the hand of God.

As has been demonstrated time and time again, God hears our prayers. He inhabits that praise of his people. Let us praise him today for the wonderful things he has done and raise up prayers for the people of the Caribbean who are in the path of this killer Hurricane. We ask these things so that others may know where to find rescue. We ask these things because we know that we serve a loving God who hears our prayers. We know that he is ready at all times to show his Mercy to his children who call on him in the name of Jesus Christ. Today we ask for his protection to be on all the people in the path of Hurricane Matthew.

As always, this publication invites the reader to a worship service should the reader be so inclined to join in. All week this site brings the news of the lost and dying world to the readership here. This is the one publication in the week wherein you will know where our rescue comes from.
