Chicago, Illinois has some of the most restrictive gun laws in the nation. All they do is create restrictions for law-abiding residents. The rest don’t care what laws they violate.
Chicago politicians stick to the notion of stronger gun laws. They say the guns come from neighboring states that have less stringent gun laws. As we have noted before, that doesn’t make sense. A Glock pistol that would sell for about $500 in a gun shop can be had on the streets of Chicago for $200-$250.
This isn’t about straw buyers buying in Indiana or Iowa and bringing them into the city. It’s about guns that are stolen – sometimes from the police and federal agents. It’s also caused by the city police not charging miscreants with gun violations. Don’t want to have more faces of color in the jail.
“1,000 more people shot in Chicago compared with same time last year”
A shooting in East Garfield Park on Oct. 14, 2016, left one man dead and six others wounded. A thousand more people have been shot in Chicago this year compared with the same time last year, according to police and data compiled by the Tribune.
A thousand more people have been shot in Chicago this year compared with the same time last year after a weekend that saw eight people killed and at least 40 wounded, according to police and data compiled by the Tribune.”
You know it’s true. It was printed in the Chicago Tribune
