MILWAUKEE, Wi. (WLUK) — Two men, including one with apparent ties to Green Bay, have been charged with attempting to provide material support to ISIS, federal authorities announced Friday.
Jason Ludke, 35, has been charged in a criminal complaint with attempting to provide material support or resources to a foreign terrorist organization.
Yosvany Padilla-Conde, 30, was charged in the same complaint with aiding and abetting Ludke’s attempt to provide material support or resources to a foreign terrorist organization.
Ludke applied to the Green Bay Sex Offender Registry Board in 2015 to live with his wife, son and step-daughters. The move was approved. It was not immediately clear how long he may have lived in Green Bay.
He was convicted in 2002 in Brown County of second-degree sexual assault of a child, and sentenced to four years in prison. The Wisconsin sex offender registry lists him as non-compliant.
Ludke and Padilla-Conde were arrested by the FBI and local law enforcement near San Angelo, Texas. It is alleged in the complaint that the two were traveling from Wisconsin to Mexico where they intended to acquire aid and documents necessary to travel to Syria and/or Iraq….
