The Monmouth County Republican team for County Offices, Sheriff Shaun Golden, Surrogate Rosemarie Peters, Freeholder Director Tom Arnone and Freeholder Deputy Director Serena DiMaso released a video ad this afternoon that reminds voters of the $4.5 million property tax cut and outstanding services the county government provides.
The ad starts off with a warning that “Washington Politicians” and “Trenton Special Interests” are trying a to buy Monmouth County, a referenced to the hundreds of thousands of out of county money that is funding the campaign of the Democrat candidates. The Monmouth Democrats have already purchased over $500,000 of cable TV ad time in October. The Republican ad will be distributed on social media.
“Our greatest resource in getting our message out has always been the thousands of Monmouth County residents who appreciate the the job we’ve been doing in making Monmouth County such a wonderful place to live and do business,”said Monmouth County Sheriff Shaun Golden who also serves as the GOP Chairman. “In this new social media age our supporters are even more powerful. We’re counting on them to share this video widely.”
“We always knew we were going to be vastly outspent, by the Democrats from Essex, Union, and Hudson counties and the special interests in Trenton and Washington who want to take control of our county, ” Golden said. “Cutting spending and taxes is sacrilege to them. We’ve cut spending over $20 million and taxes by $5 million. They view Monmouth County taxpayers as a great untapped treasure. The special interests can’t buy our track record or the support we’ve earned from Monmouth County residents.”
