You probably wouldn’t want to play Russian roulette with two of six chambers loaded. So why would you want Big Government taking over healthcare? Venezuelans let Big Government take over pretty much everything. The consequences as applied to healthcare were predictable:
The government of Venezuela reports that one out of three Venezuelans who are admitted to public hospitals died in 2015.
Like everything else in the land of the government-managed Bolivarian Revolution, the healthcare system is in a state of collapse.
There are 40 percent fewer operational hospital beds in the country since 2014, and the nation is experiencing a massive shortage of 85 percent of medicines. …
For every 1,000 live births, Venezuela experiences 15 deaths, a rate more than double the U.S., which has just six deaths per 1,000 live births.
It wasn’t always like this.
Prior to the socialist government instituted by Hugo Chávez, Venezuela was once the richest country in Latin America and in the top 20 wealthiest countries in the world.
Yet we are following them down the same path, if a little more slowly, having chosen two major party candidates who both favor the continued expansion of our bloated, quasi-socialist entitlement state. ObamaCare is not only tolerated, but will be allowed to degenerate into single-payer under either Shrillary or Trump, as intended from the beginning.
