In reality, Trump has essentially abandoned his campaign, choosing instead to turn his guns on the Republican Party. He is in free fall in the polls; given that early voting has already begun, there is little chance he can turn the situation around.
But in Fantasyland, the ongoing collapse of Trump’s ill-fated candidacy is just a media conspiracy. We will all learn that the media lies and that America loves Donald Trump on election day, November 28:

When the iceberg of reality hits the hull of the Trump Titanic on the real election day, it will come to some as a complete surprise.
After WWI, many Germans were taken off guard by total defeat. Their media had been telling them up to the last minute that they were winning. The disorienting collision between propaganda and reality made them vulnerable to stab-in-the-back conspiracy theories and other inflammatory rhetoric, resulting in further catastrophe a few years down the road.
