On Sunday, the USN Destroyer USS Mason was fired on a third time by missiles from rebel Houthi controlled land while in international waters of the Red Sea off the coast of Yemen.
The Mason has been attacked by missiles twice before in the last week or so. Following the second attack, the USS Nitze took out three Yemeni radar sites which were believed to have painted the USS Mason in some of the first two missile attacks.
Secretary of State John Kerry is calling for a cease fire. What a surprise there. Perhaps, since taking out a few radar installations was not enough of a hint, he might try letting the Houthis know that hell shall rain down from above if they don’t immediately stop firing on our ship(s). Because the truth is, that no matter how capable our missile defenses, the Houthi’s need only get lucky once, while we must be 100% successful in our defenses. And I, for one, am not at all interested is seeing a bunch of our sailors killed and wounded if the Houthis manage to get a missile past our defenses. The time to stop this crap is now. And I hope obama and kerry can see things that way soon.
