Why Jessica Leeds’ story that Trump groped her is not believable

(Before It's News)

Women are coming out of the woodwork, accusing Donald Trump of having groped them.

One of them is Jessica Leeds, who is 74 years old and lives in Manhattan.

As reported by the New York Times — the newspaper that has endorsed Hillary Clinton for POTUS and whose columnists ask Google to hide search results on Hillary Clinton’s failing health and urge journalists to abandon objectivity in reporting on Trump — Leeds claims that when she was 38, divorced and living in Connecticut, she was on a business trip (for the paper company she worked for) to New York, and sat next to Trump in the first class cabin. 45 minutes after takeoff, Trump lifted up the  armrest, grabbed her breasts, and tried to put his hand up her skirt.

Leeds said, “He was like on octopus. His hands were everywhere. It was an assault.” She fled to the back of the plane.

Since Leeds is now 74, and the groping incident was when she was 38, that would make it the year 1980.

Here are the reasons why we should be skeptical about Jessica Leeds’ story:

(1) The armrests in 1980 commercial planes’ first class cabins do not “lift.” A commenter on Reddit points out:

“The two planes that most likely would’ve been used in the 80’s were the 737 and the 767 (Majority 737). If you look up ‘737 First class’ and ‘767 first class’, BOTH of them have arm rests that do not move. Look at the picture… She claims that he reached up her skirt. Do you know how difficult and awkward it would be to reach around that giant arm rest? Don’t you think ONE person would notice?”

Here’s a picture of first class cabin seats in 1980:

(2) Jessica Leeds has a pro-Hillary agenda:

In the New York Times article, Leeds said she will vote for Hillary Clinton.

Leeds is also connected to two big Hillary supporters, Julie Kleszczewski and Diane Daniels, via an organization called the Altrusa International.

The Altrusa International, Inc. describes itself as a volunteer organization of “civic minded people who are interested in creating better communities. Last year, Altrusans proudly gave over a million volunteer hours around the world, including clubs in the United States, Puerto Rico, Canada, England, Bermuda, Ireland, India, Scotland, New Zealand and Russia.” Altrusa’s causes include literacy, HIV/AIDS, and disaster relief.

Jessica Leeds is presently the Director of Altrusa International District Two and Altrusa International of New York, NY.

(a) Julie Kleszczewski:

Julie Kleszczewski‘s LinkedIn profile says she is Altrusa International’s UN NGO Representative since 2002. In that capacity, she represents “Altrusa International at United Nations DPI/NGO Briefings, reporting, being involved in other committees at the UN and giving international workshops.”

Kleszczewski is mentioned in a Feb. 6, 2008 New York University journalism article, “Walk On By,” as “a [Hillary] Clinton volunteer attempting to distribute flyers to voters exiting the Union Square subway station“. On her Facebook page, Kleszczewski has a selfie of herself with Hillary Clinton, with this comment, “I met Candidate Hillary Clinton at AL and ALA National Convention in Cincinnati Ohio, Wednesday, August 31, 2016. How exciting to meet her again”:

Here are some hilarious comments by Trump supporters on Kleszczewski’s Facebook page:

(b) Diane Daniels:

According to a screenshot posted to 4chan, Jessica Leeds, Julie Kleszczewski, and Diane Daniels were, respectively, the secretary and officers of Altrusa International’s New York Club in 2014-15.

Diane Daniels had worked for a Hillary Clinton superPAC, Ready For Hillary, which created in January 2013 to draft Hillary to run for President in 2016. Among the supporters of Ready For Hillary is George Soros.

(3) Eyewitness contradicts Leeds’ account:

anthony-gilberthorpe

A male eyewitness, a 54-year-old British man named Anthony Gilberthorpe, said he was sitting across the first class aisle from Leeds and Trump on that flight in 1980, and saw nothing inappropriate. In a note provided to the New York Post, Gilberthorpe said Leeds was wearing a white pantsuit, while Trump was wearing a suit and cuff-links. Gilberthorpe said he did not see Trump grope Leeds; on the contrary, Leeds was the one desperately flirting with Trump to get his attention:

“I have only met this accuser once and frankly cannot imagine why she is seeking to make out that Trump made sexual advances on her. Not only did he not do so (and I was present at all times) but it was she that was the one being flirtatious.”

Gilberthorpe even issued a challenge to Leeds:

“I will go to head to head with her — I will meet her again. I will see her eyes across the table with my eyes and I will challenge her on the points she made. And I’ll tell you what, I would do this whether it was for Trump, for Clinton, for Obama, or for any man who’s been accused of sexually molesting someone when I know he did not.”

Given all the above — the fixed armrests of first class cabin seats in airlines; Jessica Leeds’ self-profession that she will vote for Hillary Clinton; Leeds’ association with two Altrusa International club officers who are avid Hillary supporters; eyewitness testimony that contradicts Leeds — we have good reasons to be skeptical about Leeds’ story that Donald Trump groped her on a flight to New York in 1980.

  • Does Donald Trump First Class “Groping Accuser” Have a History of Conflict With Trump Property?….
Posted on October 14, 2016 by sundance
Developing story… The New York Times dropped their explosive accusation story about a first-class airline passenger named Jessica Leeds who claimed Donald Trump groped her 30 years ago. The two New York Times reporters for the accusation, Michael Barbaro and Megan Twohey, have a history of questionable reporting about Donald Trump.

Research discovers two additional Donald Trump connected stories with the exact name “Jessica Leeds” attached, and -adjusted for chronology- the same age as the NYT report.

♦ The first is an article in the New York Daily News dated October 7th, 2007 – surrounding a Trump owned golf course property in Rancho Palos Verdes, California where the golf course erected trees to mitigate the visual appearance of distressed property:

[…] The glitzy New York mogul readily admits he considers some of the sunbleached, 1950s-style bungalows overlooking his world-class Palos Verdes golf course shabby-chic eyesores.

So he planted a monolithic wall of fast-growing ficus trees as a “temporary” screen for a Michael Douglas tournament held in April, and then never took it out.

Well, the trees have begun blocking the priceless – and protected – ocean views of this scrappy town and irate homeowners are fighting back.

[…] “These views are one of the great beauties of America. The trees are impairing views on public hiking and biking trails. That’s much more important to the public good than what some golfers consider an ugly house,” complained resident Lenee Bilski, 63.

“We can watch the whales go by, the pelicans go fishing, the kite surfers. It’s an idyllic life…and now Donald Trump comes along and takes that away,” said Jessica Leeds, 62, whose million-dollar property was singled out in Trump paperwork as particularly homely. (read more)

♦ The second story containing Jessica Leeds, is related to the same Rancho Palos Verdes golf course and a fence dispute between the Trump property and Jessica Leeds personally. The second story is in the LA Times dated October 30th, 2008.

The title of the story is “The verdict in Rancho Palos Verdes: Don’t mess with the Donald“:

(LA Times) The homeowner, Jessica Leeds, has property that borders on Trump’s golf course development, and had been in negotiations with the Trump organization, which was arguing that her fence was actually in Trump’s property. She says she believed the two sides were in the process of negotiating a solution when a construction crew showed up last Thursday.

“All of a sudden, they were here with their bulldozers taking down the fence, removing and destroying landscape, trees, a walking path, a storage unit just bulldozing through the whole thing,” Jessica Leeds told the Palos Verdes Peninsula News. “They had a surveyor here [who] moved the old fence and put up the fence with some new posts at that supposed property line which I’m not sure whether it is or not without even giving me a survey, without even calling me, without even sending a letter, no notification.”

According to David Conforti, the general manager of the Trump-owned course, the action taken on Thursday was to recoup their land.

We’re simply reclaiming what is legally, rightfully ours, Conforti said on Friday. [Leeds] certainly had the forewarning. It was a few months old. There was nothing ripped out. What we simply did was remove the fence and then reinstall it on the property line.

The Trump Organization last winter sent a letter stating that Leeds had 10 or 14 days to move the fence herself, which she did not do, Conforti said. (link)

If the Palos Verdes Jessica Leeds is the same Jessica Leeds in the New York Times accusations, it certainly raises the question of an undisclosed personal motive, anger over the past, and/or a probable axe-to-grind.

What are the odds this is two different women with the exact same name, of the same age?

One way to look at this is the New York Times accusation itself holds ZERO evidence of the accusation other than the individual word of the accuser, Jessica Leeds.

Surely, Michael Barbaro and Megan Twohey, would have done a simple google search for media reports containing “Jessica Leeds and Donald Trump” as key words and found these stories.

Surely they would have already asked Jessica Leeds if she was the same disgruntled property owner from 2007 and 2008.

Surely Mr. Barbaro and Ms. Twohey would have not been in such a rush with such an explosive accusation they would have overlooked the most rudimentary of search engine fact-checking?

    Surely?

    Right?
