The Huffington Post today reported on the 18-year relationship between Charlie Crist (D) and Donald Trump (R), who donated to Crist nine times in 2005 with each donation at $500. In 2008, Trump also gave two separate contributions of $2,400.

Representative David Jolly (R), currently running a reelection campaign against Charlie Crist, asked “Why is Mr. Crist suddenly abandoning his old friend? The people of Pinellas expect honesty from their representatives and deserve to know the answers to these questions.”

In an effort to attack Jolly, Crist has often tried to tie Jolly to Trump, a man that Jolly has never met and has yet to endorse, but Jolly quickly responded with a video about Crist’s own connections to Donald Trump.

In the video, Jolly highlights Crist’s hypocrisy. He mentions that it was politically convenient for him at one point to embrace Trump’s support, but now it’s politically convenient for him to abandon Trump. “He’s turned his back on his old friend just like he’s turned his back on us,” Jolly says in the video.

So, why is Christ bashing Trump now when years back he took money from him?

Representative Jolly says it’s because “Charlie will do whatever is politically beneficial to him.”
