We all know that cops do a lot of good. And sometimes they do truly human heartfelt things for people. Some of these go viral. And when that happens, usually someone here will post it or bring it up in a comment. And that is all to the good, and we think, Attaboy! That’s one for the cops.
The problem, as we all know, is that just one “Oh Shit!” wipes slick 100 “Attaboys!” And sadly, it looks like that just happened.
A police officer with the San Antonio Police Department, Matthew Luckhurst, was fired for allegedly feeding a homeless person a sandwich containing feces, according to the San Antonio Express News. The unidentified officer reportedly placed the fecal matter in between two slices of bread and gave it to the homeless person. The Blaze
Officer Luckhurst said that the incident never happened; that it was all a joke. But apparently his fellow Officers didn’t buy it, and the Blue Wall of Silence failed him. Because, according to his Police Chief, his fellow officers reported him to IA.
“The fact that his fellow officers were so disgusted with his actions that they reported him to Internal Affairs demonstrates that this type of behavior will never be tolerated. The action of this one former officer in no way reflects the actions of all the other good men and women who respectfully serve this community.” MySanAntonio
Oh Feces! … Well, there go those Attaboys. And if this news story is accurate, then I just cannot understand what would motivate anyone, much less a cop, to do something like that.
