Borderline Retardation Keeps Mobster Out of Jail

On the liberal farm, all animals are equal, but normal animals are a lot less equal than animals that are regarded as defective in some way. For example, those with extremely low IQs can evade the death penalty thanks to a Supreme Court ruling. Even being just a little stupid can spring you from jail, as Bradford Wedra proves:

An accused mobster got a second chance to stay out of jail Tuesday when his lawyer convinced an exasperated federal judge that he should be excused for six failed drug tests while out on bail — because he’s illiterate and has “borderline mental retardation.”

Bradford Wedra risked getting locked up and losing his $300,000 bail after testing positive for marijuana and cocaine repeatedly since his August arrest.

But his lawyer Michael Sporn insisted to Manhattan federal court Judge Richard Sullivan that it was his underlying “limitations” that caused the wannabe wiseguy to flout conditions of his release.

“Mr. Wedra has some developmental disabilities. He has some learning deficits,” Sporn said at a bail hearing.

That makes Wedra special. So they let him loose again.

Wedra isn’t dumb enough to get out of wearing an ankle monitor.

On a tip from Rob E.
