At 4:38 pm this afternoon, Ricky Lee Fouts was sentenced to 51-74 months in the custody of the North Carolina Department of Adult Corrections after accepting a plea arrangement with the District Attorneys Office where he plead guilty to Voluntary Manslaughter in the death of his son, Cy Levi Fouts after an altercation on November 13, 2012 after a single gunshot wound to the abdomen.
Part of the sentence requires Fouts to make restitution to Celia Carpenter, the mother of Levi, in the amount of $7,421.63 upon his release from prison while on Advanced Supervised Probation.
Macon Media was the only media outlet present in the court room during the sentencing phase.
Fouts was originally scheduled to plead guilty Monday morning, but was determined to be intoxicated after admitting to using alcohol the night before. His Blood Alcohol Content on Monday was determined to be 0.14%.

A more detailed report of the sentencing will be published after this term of Superior Court is finished.
