When last we heard from Oppressed Person of Gayness Calum McSwiggan, he was inducted onto the Hate Hoax List for a comically incompetent attempt to stage a hoax. The vlogger has earned himself 15 minutes of infamy and more:
YouTube personality Calum McSwiggan … has pleaded guilty to vandalizing a car, after claiming he was the victim of a hate crime, officials said.
McSwiggan, 26, entered the plea Monday to one felony count of vandalism over $400 damage.
He was sentenced to three years felony probation, 52 anger-management counseling sessions and ordered to pay $7,000 in restitution, according to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office.
It was during an altercation with three men on June 27 that McSwiggan damaged the car mirror and bumper of the vehicle of one of the men. Prosecutors say he then falsely told police that he had been beaten by the vehicle’s driver and two other men.
Not being the brightest stripe in the rainbow flag, McSwiggan attempted to bolster his false allegations by beating himself up while locked alone in his jail cell — after police had already taken a mugshot of his unbruised face. The charge of filing a false police report was dropped as part of a plea deal.
