Since Paul Ryan as Speaker of the House of Representatives, and Mitch McConnell as Senate Majority Leader, have done such a bang up job in keeping obama’s progressive madness in check, the Republicans have decided to keep them both on for the forthcoming 115th Congress.
As far as I am concerned, neither of these men should be in leadership positions. But Red State holds McConnell in “special” regard.
He is a gutless poltroon in his dealings with Democrats but a fascist in his dealings with conservative members of the Senate. He is the guy who promised us he’d begin unraveling Obamacare if he had a majority and, when we gave him one, he did nothing. He is the guy who allowed Bob Corker to cut a deal with Obama that gave Iran nuclear weapons. His word is worth nothing. He has never met a barrel he couldn’t pork or an influence he couldn’t peddle. If there is a less qualified person to actually ram a conservative Supreme Court nominee down Chuck Schumer’s throat that Mitch McConnell, I can’t imagine who it would be… okay, I can, but Thad Cochran would get lost in the basement of his house searching for his mistress and never make the vote.
With these two running Congress, I have a lot of trouble envisioning any actual positive change happening in this nation. Ryan and McConnell not only do not fight Democrats, but they are all in favor of the maintaining the status quo.
