Thomas Jefferson, a primary founder of the United States of America, author of the Declaration of Independence, and one of the greatest men in world history, is a step closer to being frog-marched down the Memory Hole.
Among his innumerable accomplishments, Jefferson founded the University of Virginia, whose current president is Teresa Sullivan. Surreally, she is at the center of a firestorm for mentioning Jefferson’s name in a postelection email.
In the email, Sullivan encouraged students to unite in the wake of contentious results, arguing that University students have the responsibility of creating the future they want for themselves.
“Thomas Jefferson wrote to a friend that University of Virginia students ‘are not of ordinary significance only: they are exactly the persons who are to succeed to the government of our country, and to rule its future enmities, its friendships and fortunes,’” Sullivan said in the email. “I encourage today’s U.Va. students to embrace that responsibility.”
Some professors from the Psychology Department — and other academic departments — did not agree with the use of this quote. Their letter to Sullivan argued that in light of Jefferson’s owning of slaves and other racist beliefs, she should refrain from quoting Jefferson in email communications.
How about if in light of Jefferson’s owning slaves and allegedly holding views that would not be fully compatible with 2016 standards of political correctness, sniveling fools who have no respect for him clear the hell out of the country he founded?
A total of 469 moonbats signed the vile letter proclaiming Jefferson’s very name to be the equivalent of an obscenity, including both students and professors. The former should be expelled, the latter fired.
The letter was excreted by Assistant Professor of Psychology Noelle Hurd.
“I drafted the e-mail because when Jefferson was referenced in emails related to the election, it communicated to me a message of exclusion,” Hurd said.
All reference to Thomas Jefferson must be excluded from the university he founded because he has been judged guilty of “exclusion” by those who unworthily inherited what he created.
This lunacy is act of vandalism not just against Jefferson, not just against America, not just against human history, but against decency and sanity.
Progressives don’t mean to take over America. They mean to erase it and replace it with something disgusting beyond the power of words to express.
