No charges in Keith Lamont Scott police shooting, Charlotte DA says
The North Carolina cop whose shooting of a black man in September touched off riots and helped fan fanned racial flames around the nation will not face charges, a prosecutor said Wednesday as he painstakingly laid out evidence the dead man brandished an illegal gun at police and ignored repeated commands to drop it.
Charlotte-Mecklenburg District Attorney Andrew Murray determined that Officer Brentley Vinson’s actions in killing Keith Lamont Scott were justified.
“We cannot know what Scott’s intention was that day,” Murray said.
Scott’s family has said he was not armed. SOURCE
Of course his family says he wasn’t armed, that’s what people like this do.
I am pretty sure he was a good boy and loved his Mama, attended church every time the doors were open, donated to the Red Cross, Jerry’s Kids, the Salvation Army, Shriners, and worked 2 full time jobs so he could be the fine, upstanding person his family wants us to believe he was.
So, if Keith Lamont Scott was such an upstanding citizen, why then did he have to buy a gun illegally?
“Mr. Scott illegally purchased the gun on Sept. 2,” Murray said. The seller admitted to selling the gun to a third party on Facebook.
And for what it’s worth, Facebook has a very strict policy about the sale of guns through their website. As founder and Chief Admin of The United States Gun Owners Association page on Facebook I receive regular reminders regarding the rules applied to gun pages by Facebook and the consequences that we could have imposed upon us if we don’t adhere to the rules.
Maybe Facebook missed this one, maybe they only apply their strict rules to those that try very hard to insure the rules are followed, hell, I don’t know, but wouldn’t it be a hoot if somehow Zuckerberg was implicated in this and ended up paying some massive fines?
“Mr. Scott’s DNA was found on the slide of the gun and the grip of the gun,” Murray said. The Charlotte police crime lab found Scott’s fingerprints on the gun, but the state crime lab “did not find that print to be of value.”
Murray said a Colt .380 semi-automatic was recovered at the scene with one live round in the chamber with the safety off. The gun was cocked.
But the family said Keith Lamont Scott was unarmed.
Say, you don’t suppose the family may have been wrong do you?
Oh, and again, for what it’s worth; before any of my Black readers start to raising hell and crying *RACIST* and accusing me of being a racist for supporting the Officer that shot Keith Lamont Scott, for the record, that Officer was himself a Black man.
How about that? A Black Police Officer that was color blind and shot a bad guy, not *A Brother*, but a BAD GUY. Amazing isn’t it?
Scott’s final moments also were recorded by his wife, Rakeyia, in a video shared widely on social media. She can be heard shouting to police that her husband “doesn’t have a gun.” She pleads with the officers not to shoot before a burst of gunfire can be heard.
Any doubts about my speaking the truth regarding the family of Keith Lamont Scott and how they would react to Police doing the job they are intended to do? Anyone??
Do I mourn the death of Keith Lamont Scott? No, not in any way. Do I support the Officer that shot him? You bet I do and will continue to support that Police Officer unless some irrefutable evidence if presented proving him wrong.
Any time a BAD GUY bites the dust we’re ALL better off, and quite frankly, I don’t give a damn WHO disagrees with that statement.
